Yet again the time has come for us to start to think about the next Blyton Park Induction Day.

The next Day will be on Friday 30th May 2014. Format will be similar to the last and most successful event; that is Novices with an Instructors and experienced graduates. These will be split by graduate sessions, almost open pit; Instructors available FOC on request.

Full and Half Day available at £100 and £70 for PCGB Members, £120 & £85 for Non-members. Maximum entries = 35 cars

All details to follow shortly, but just to say, we have had 7 requests for entries already before we even published the event.
Richard, the circuit owner has proposed some major track changes; giving an extended track length. These changes should be completed well before our event.

If anyone has suggestions for things they would like to see happen at the event, please feel free to pass it on to Richard or myself. I believe some people would like to have a PAX ride with an instructor or very experienced track driver?

Regards
Gavin

Hi Gavin If the event is open to members from other Regions, I would be interested in joining you.

Terry, this event is open to all PCGB members; obviously first dibs were given to R4 but now it is open to all regions, and most welcome you would be. If you need details on location, hotels etc, we can help. Gavin R4 ARO

Hi Gavin, Really enjoyed the 2012 Track Induction Day but didn't manage to get along last year, so please can you put me down for this year if there's space. Cheers, Jeff (R10 & R24)

Hi Gavin, Will you add myself to the list of those wishing to take part, and send me an entry form as and when they become available. In my view the last event was spot on, and very little tinkering if any is required. Regards, Mick Stanley Carrera 2 Membership Number 37055

Really enjoyed the last one - if your running a Geriatrics group again(cars or drivers?) count me in. Might try and persuade herself to come along too Tony

To all that have shown an interest, I have your details and will send out an entry form shortly; for now, your places are reserved as I have had in excess of 10 requests this week alone. The format, for those who attended last year, will remain similar; with classes based on ability and performance of the vehicle. Open sessions will be integrated into morning and afternoon periods. We are once again restricting entry to around 35 cars, allowing for instructors and free space on track. Gavin R4 ARO

Hello Gavin, I have recently joined PCGB, I have had a lot of experience on track and at blyton, would be happy to take people round in my 996 turbo if there are still slots available? R7, but i live at Epworth. Cheers Marc Sorry cancel that as i will be away at work.

Hi Gavin, I'm interested in joining the Induction day on 30th May. I have done a few hill climbs and sprints in my Mini, but nothing in the 996 so would like to 'give it a go'. Please add me to your list. Cheers, Jon R7 - Yorkshire member

Hi Gavin, I am extremely interested in this event having eventually concluded that it is not exclusive to novices. Like Marc, above, I am also an experienced track- day driver, I also live in Epworth and I'm also more than willing to help on the day. (I don't believe that Marc and I have ever met, mine's a red 964RS). Please let me know more at the appropriate time, thanks, Ian.

Hey Ian, If you do get to Blyton I'll swap you a go in the RS for the excitement of a '73 S! Tony

Hi Tony It's a deal. I was looking for a 72/3 S when I stumbled across my car all those years ago. Funnily enough I've just asked you how you feel about the swap from 964RS on the RS forum, you can tell me first hand at Blyton, look forward to it. Ian

Currently as of 1st Feb, we have 17 requests for entry forms; I will be sending these out during the next 4-5 days. If I don't already have your e-mail to which I can attach an entry, I will be contacting you to provide one. For those who have not even thought about doing the event yet, you really need to act upon it quite quickly; it may be better to book and cancel (if needed) than to miss the opportunity and regret it. We are limited to 35 cars maximum, and will offer a couple of reserve places. Cheques need to be paid by the beginning of April but get your entry form back ASAP. I will report on changes to the track as soon as I have seen it for myself.

Mines in the post too![:)] looking forward to it....just hope my rear tyres last until the end of the day!! Kev

Gavin, can you email an entry form please for 2 entries please. I believe you have my address from last year, but if not let me know please. Ian

Richard and I have had some correspondence from Steve @ Motorsports, he has included our event in the PCGB Track day calendar. That is brilliant news as it helps with insurance coverage on Porsche approved track days. The bad news (not really) is that the remaining 14 places will possibly be snapped up quickly. Anyone from R4 who wants to attend, or is considering it; you need to get an entry form submitted to reserve a place. We will accept cancellations as we can offer to any reserves but cannot "squeeze" anyone as an extra. If you have already submitted an entry form, cheques are required by 1st week of April; your places are secured. Everyone who has applied for an entry form or sent in cheques, should have had a reply or receipt from me; let me know if you have not had either.
