Blyton Park Track Induction Day - 30 May

I'd also like to echo the general sentiment of a thoroughly enjoyable and well executed day. Mrs Star5key took the Boxster out today without any apprehension (or indeed holding up the other traffic..) Hats off to Gavin - two very different requirements of an instructor over two very different sessions. Based on turnout, appreciation and feedback, is there to be another similar day this year? Either at Blyton or otherwise....?

Absolutely agree , It was a brilliant day again at Blyton and learned so much more than even last year. Looking forward to the next one. Glad to hear Chris is getting on better with the Boxster Craig, and thank you for the ride, It was good to see how it's supposed to be done ;) Hope your tyres feel better soon :)

I am surprised and extremely delighted by the level of positive feedback we have received from our Blyton Park Novice Day. Obviously there are lots of requests to run another event later in the Year, this includes from the circuit owner. It is early days yet, Richard (RO) and I have to have a debrief and weigh up any negatives? We also need to approach PCGB Motorsport before we can commit to looking into another event. PCGB gratefully agreed to run it under the PCGB wing, therefore allowing many drivers to be covered by insurance at PCGB Track Days. The open Pit sessions certainly seem to be the way forward whilst still having Novice only sessions, but if this event is anything to go by; we may need another Instructor or two to meet the demand. I believe a large percentage of experienced "Graduates" took advantage of the free instruction at some point. I know that I and the other instructors, Nick, Mike and Gawain thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Forgot to say thanks to Kev and Tony (997 GT3 RS and treeked 2.4S for allowing me to drive/passenger respectively. Both cars equally impressive. The S can still hack it, loads of fun, plenty of poke, grippy yet playful. The GT3RS is fabulous, really poweful and torquey, great brakes, feels really focussed and purposeful but I didn't master it anywhere near enough to push-on. Kev, I'm sorry if my car has made you fancy one, you must remember that you witnessed it a tit's best - on track. Yours will be massively better than mine ass an all-rounder and is still fantastic on track. Thanks again both, it helpled make it a great day for me. Ian.

Please let me also add my thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable day, and thank you all for being so welcoming to someone out of region (I'm from R7) and a complete novice; this was my first ever track day, but I'm sure it won't be the last. I would welcome recommendations of track day organisers to look at. Gavin had done a superb job of organising the event which was ideal for someone new to track days with excellent instruction from Gawain, Nick Mike and Gavin. Thanks also to Kev, Kerry and Alan who very kindly gave me passenger rides in their cars (GT3 RS, Boxster S and C4S respectively ) - I certainly enjoyed these and also learned a lot from all of you. If you are able to hold another such event then I will certainly want to come again if you'll have me. Thanks again Graham Boxster S (987.2 Meteor Grey)
