Blyton Park Track Induction Day - 30 May

Places for the Blyton Park novice day are getting few, they are now well down into single figures and thanks to Porsche Motorsport advertising in their Track Day calendar and the Porsche Post advertising in "What's on" I expect all of these to go fairly soon. For those not intending to drive, come along and have a look, maybe even get a ride. We also need helpers on the Day to get the cars ready for each session, gate control onto the circuit, session timing and finish flag. Please contact Richard or I. This Year so far we have lots of GT3s, 964RS, 991S, a couple of Speed Championship cars and something very unusual ( see on the Day)

For all who have entered for Blyton Park and have received a receipt, only one person spotted that I had sent the receipt out for the 31st May not the 30th. Just to save any confusion, Novice Day is 30th (Friday) and receipt should have read 30th. Not many places left, so hurry if your thinking about it!

Are there any places left for the Blyton Park Induction Day? I got my first Porsche last year and joined PCGB and have yet to do a track day so this event would seem ideal for me.

We still have a few places left, down to our last 6 places plus reserves. I know you have contacted me by e-mail and an entry form sent out. We look forward to seeing you along with fellow R7 members.

Having just attended Blyton this week to do some instructing, I have had a look at the changes to the track layout. The new circuit layouts, 3 options, do not make the circuit any longer than the original layout; which we will stick with. The new layouts are not as easy to use and negates some of the faster sections, in my opinion.

Hullo Gavin, Are there any places left still? I am R8. Please tell me where to send the cheque. Peter F 997 Carrera Coupe 2S

Sadly still awaiting the DVLA to return my licence (Medical not naughties !) So I won't be joining you all on the track this year but I will be coming down to watch and help out if needed. Last year was an amazingly well organized and brilliant day so you will all have a great time. See you all in May :)

I have booked in and I am looking forward to the event. Just a few questions :- o- Do we allow passengers ... I have a friend who would like to come and sit in the passenger seat. o- How do we book instructors, and how do we get the best out of them on the day ? o- Will other drivers be interested in letting me sit in as a passenger? I would like to see how others drive their cars. If all this information is yet to be sent out at the end of April ... I can wait. Tim.

Tim, You are very welcome to sit-in with me (964RS) and I've no doubt others will feel the same way, it's all part of the fun. Come and say hello on the day and we can sort something. Ian

Tim, Just to say that if you're a novice driver like myself, I think you'll find that you'll have an instructor with you all the time. What's more, it's included in the price - which makes it a very good value track day. Hopefully, Gavin will confirm. See you on the day. Jeff

Hi Tim, and Thanks Jeff. If as suggested, you are a novice, we would include free tuition to you on every session. It may be a bit of a squeeze to have a passenger too lol. Joking aside. If anyone wants to bring along someone for Pax rides, I am sure quite a few of the graduates will have spare seats throughout the day, maybe I need to work out how we can offer them and share. Of course all passengers will need to sign a waiver form and wear a helmet, they can bring their own or hire on the day from Blyton Park at £10-12/day. Helmets do not need to be current MSA approved so a motorcycle helmet will suffice. As a driver, between sessions, you can try to get a Pax with a graduate. I can actually recommend this as a good learning experience. One of our regular attendees did not progress hugely until they had a Pax ride, suddenly seeing what was possible with the car/circuit made a huge difference in confidence. Of course you have the option to ask an instructor to show you in your car but they are not insured against any failure of your car (Re:Mark Hales Porsche 917 case). I hope this helps, we are a friendly bunch on a friendly track; we will try to help however we can!

As always I'm more than happy to take people for passenger laps. Look forward to catching up with everyone at the end of next month.

Hi Gavin, Trust all is well. Do you have places left? I would like to attend. Will happily drop a cheque in this week to secure. Thanks

Hello Star5KEY, I got your e-mail and will reply today with an entry form. You need to speak to PCGB HQ for membership, they can do it over the phone. Just let me know your membership number as soon as you get it.

Gavin, I've sent you an email, but I now have a funeral on the 30th so would like to give up my full day place if anyone wants it. Cheers, Jon
