This may be a silly question, but can someone confirm where exactly Brize Norton is?
Which entrance we are supposed to use?
What time do we really have to be there?

Not at all Mark. N51 45.0 W001 35.0

Which entrance we are supposed to use?

The front entrance.....

What time do we really have to be there?

B4 midday

Oh alright!! Brize is by the village of Carterton which is south-east of Burford on the A4020. Entrance should be signposted.

Remember, no names, no car reg, no entrance....

Im going to have to cancel going to this event as i can't remember which car i put down as taking and im blowed if im driving all the way down to Brize to be told im in the wrong car[][][][]

Mel,

Lat and Long is fine. I have both map reading ability AND GPS. By the way, your co-ords are out. Should be N 051 45.00 W 001 35.02[;)]
Just wanted to make sure the Brize Norton on the map (village) actually was anywhere near Brize Norton the airfield (Remember Eynsham Hall and Eynsham village last year?[:D])

I asked about entrances as airfields tend to be fairly big, with several entrances, and I want to be able to make my approach from the right direction (I know - into the prevailing wind[;)])

Thanks for confirming I had the right one[8D]

Helen,

Wasn't it the Boxster? This was supposed to be a Boxster event? Mel's even going to turn his engine the right way round so the he fits in (for once[;)])

Helen,

Erm, not one to state the bl**ding obvoius, but have u asked the lady who is co-ordinating at Brize??

Just a thought....

Digger is on leave and so Gloucestershire.Gov is out of bounds.

Flt Lt Joanne Campbell at RAF Brize Norton is the contact.

Or just ring the main gate and ask them what they have down for your car.

We kept address details of everyone who sent a form through us but not what car they were using!

JCB..

Mark

As stated many times and on the form that you filled in!

You really have to be there before 12:00.

Whitney By- Pass and it's on the left if you are going West on the right if you are going East - you can see it from the road.

Use any entrance you like! If they don't like it they will be sure to let you know!

JCB.. (I now definitely know why I gave up Teacher Training College).

thanks Digger, now all i've got to do is find the number for Brize Norton and try and get hold of Lt Joanne Campbell, [:'(]

John,

I only asked as Claire has a hospital appointment in the morning. I know that 12 has been mentioned, but I wanted to make sure. We might be a bit tight on time.

The address may have been on the application form, but hey - we had to send that back didn't we?
As I recall we were going to be sent passes or somesuch, but that all changed AFTER we sent the stuff off.
As I said, I didn't want to get to Brize Norton village and find that the airfied was actually somewhere near Maidstone[&:]

Sorry, should have done a websearch for Brize Norton, but I thought I'd ask the stupid question here. Everyone else does[8|]

It's not been a good day[:'(]

my thoughts exactly.. if i'd known we wern't getting passes i'd have made a copy of the form i sent back.

to be honest im not sure i can be bothered to chase Brize Norton for confirmation of what car im suposed to take.

Sorry John.

Didn't mean to rant. I thought if I asked here then at least everyone who needed to know would also have the answer.
There may be madness in my method, but there's usually a good reason[;)]

Thanks for the link.

Helen

That is of course your prerogative.

To be fair to the Brize Organisers the form does not mention passes at all it was merely an assumption on our part.

Should you change your mind

01993 842551

is their telephone number.

JCB..

FYI:

hi Mel

Come to the main gate at Bzz, if you're coming from Oxford then you'll drive past an Esso garage before the turn-off into camp.

Joanne

PS: forecast is dryish (slight chance of showers)
