Broken camshaft

dear paul;

porsche did not want to accept the liability at the beginning, i had to go deep and get inside information to push them, then i got the result, and for your information they did not supply me with a new engine, they rebuild the entire engine, they even changed the casing, which is really stupid, and the final bill came down to 15k, where as a new engine costs 13k plus 5 hours of labour to fit!

now you do the maths, i told them that i'm willing to pay the 7k that i have to pay( since they only accepted part liability!!!!) and u guys pay the rest for new engine, which would be 6.5k, but they refused!!! their mechanic was shocked, coz he had to warranty the engine for two years, which he was not willing to do so as he has never done such a big job like this before, since porsche has rebuild the entire engine and accepted the full liability, they are not willing to warranty the work they carried on the car since they had to pay from their own pocket! i have never seen a big manufacture to be like this before, u carry any job on a car as big as this, u guarantee the work u do, otherwise what's the point of giving my car to the dealership???

seriously i don't mean to disrespect any porsche fan, but i have been messed around a lot over this matter which has put me off, with such a bad customer service and at the end i had to also pay £1200 out of my pocket for some parts!!!

Sorry, I mis-understood that it was not a new engine but a re-built one.... Still think they should be offering a warranty though....?

I too would be upset if I was in your position, good luck with whatever you decide to do.....
