Exactly. They have a lot of interest in staying friends with Porsche and being supported and very little interest in road car enthusiasts on the internetTwinfan said:Non-disclosure agreements. They know but can't say.

Ah Hah.......this is getting very interesting!

I don't think there are any massive surprises brewing, it's all part of the game. Porsche have managed the release of spy shots of the mules and kept the engine guessing going. It's all good publicity, which they are micro managing expertly to keep the internet buzzing.
I'm expecting an all-new entry level 4.0ltr NA engine i.e. a bog basic version of the GT3 engine.

With the Clubsport being launched on January 3rd in the USA, will we see one at Autosport International on the 10th?
They do exist - being loaded at an airport in the USA..

US racing guys are certain on Rennlist that they can start talking about the cars after the press launch later today.
They are also adamant that the engine will be the same in CS as in future GT4 road version whenever that turns up.
Just passing this on, I have no special insight.

Miscellaneous stuff:
Apparently Porsche sold over 500 981 GT4 Clubsports. They are no longer eligible for IMSA entries in 2019 but are still eligible for PCA, VLN and SRO series. There will be a number in the teens of 718 GT4 Clubsports at Daytona for the "Roar" weekend.
There are 24 981 GT4 Clubsport race cars for sale on racecarsdirect.com at prices of between €90k and €170k.
There are 23 981 GT4 road cars listed by UK OPCs at prices of between £74k and £90k.

I reckon. And maybe see the CS on display at autosport international next weekMotorhead said:That's right Richard - the same engine is required for homologation, so finally that will let the cat out of the bag.
I think that Geneva is still favourite for the appearance of the road car.

Agreed Dean - we've been through that loop before. It would be an ideal opportunity for Porsche to showcase the race car in Europe.

For those just catching up with this here's some info from dailysportcar.com:
It’s set to be a big year for GT4 for Porsche too in ’19, with the successor to the winning Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport set for a world premiere on January 3, 2019, at the “Roar before Daytona” tests.
The 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport will be the first ever production race car with body parts that are sustainably manufactured: the front hood, doors and rear wing are all made of natural-fibre composite material.
Three weeks after its launch, the new clubsport racer will then make its race debut at Daytona.
Jeff
Edit: The latest word is that the car will be unveiled at 14:00 local time in Daytona (19:00 GMT).

Is it just me or is a bit underwhelming?
‘Track day‘ version is not homologated for road use. So for those of us non boffins out here, does this mean anything at all for the next premium GT4 replacememy Cayman road car? surely it leaves it open for the road legal version to be a turbo of some sort due to emissions .....?? Or am I missing something ?

Nope...I’m with you on that Ralph. Just more of the same but I suppose an extra 45hp is not to be sniffed at.
