Always a possiblity though, and it would mean Porsche eating humble pie to some extent. On the other hand you could say that they've listened to the press criticiism and acted accordingly, even it's only for limited 718 Cayman/Boxster production; in which case it's hardly likely to boost 718 sales significantly. Plus there's some merit in it since they've spent a fair amount of time and effort on engine and body development and it would help amortise development costs.
It's unclear what engine capacity the cars would have - 3.8L; 4.0L? Still too many unknowns until we see the GT4/Spyder spec.
