Cayman GT4: Where are we up to now?

D,

I'm dropping car off at 08:30 Thurs 22nd and off to London on the 10:15 train then back mid-pm Fri 23rd; also at Silverstone track day Sun 25th where there might be a couple of GT4s.

Ralph

I hear Porsche are going to make about 5000 GT4 ….. This will ease up the wait for anyone who wants one …...[:)]

I'll try and pop in Friday pm

About time we had another pic - can't let daro and his Are Spyders, etc. steal all the limelight.

I'm not a fan of grey but this looks OK with the shiny wheels.

yellow wins imo, you need a wow on the GT4 not blend in silvers/greys

Yellow is a head turner

I think the grey looks good -- but I started off wth a yellow Escort RS2000 and the love of the colour, for special cars, never left me:)

If McQueen had been driving a yellow car .... ???

Or is that too contentious ?

IMO .. a discrete wow beats a LOUD WOW .. a GT4's presence alone should be sufficient, irrespective of colour.

Have to agree with that sentiment Jeremy.

Again, not my favourite colour but here's one for the black aficianados.

I've been searching for another set of tyres, not winter tyres, just a set of summer tyres for use in the wet and colder months.

these will be fitted to another set of rims, my problem is finding something suitable with N rated.

MPSS do the size but not N's

Pirelli P Zero do the size and N's

Michelin Alpin, but I think that is more pure winter tyre

Anyone know of something else that would be good and N rated ?

Steve,

Being a new car under the factory warranty I presume that you will be restricted to N-rated tyres which will limit your choice. Have you sought advice from your suppyling dealership on this matter?

Can't you get Michelin Pilot Sport 2 N2s for the GT4?

Good to meet up with you on Saturday by the way.

Jeff

Steve,

I would avoid Pirelli as they seem at least to me, to lack grip, particularly in the damp. I have fitted MPSS 245/35/20 and 295/30/20 non N rated and after 9k miles including a fair number of track days there is still 4mm and 6mm tread remaining front and rear.

I have not found a better alternative.

Good grip dry and wet (tested on a very wet day at Pembrey) and you can always put the MPC2s back on for your OPC visits.

One up to the GT4 in this PH drag race:

Tried on PH without any luck, not sure if this is a silly question or not : With the Clubsport package, where do the harnesses anchor to behind the seats exactly, on a GT3 I believe they attach onto the horizontal bar part of the cage ?? In the Cayman it's not the same, seems the bar is much higher and is also angled towards the rear.
