You should PM Kevan Sutherns [buddy] the Cayman Register Secretary for an answer to your question. Alternatively, email him on cayman@porscheclubgb.com .

Just joined the Club Last May 2019, with my first Porsche ever a Cayman S 987; therefore never been on a meeting, but it is my intent to be an active participant...
Cheers!

cayman@porschclubgb.com (cayman@porschclubgb.com) Your message couldn't be delivered. The Domain Name System (DNS) reported that the recipient's domain does not exist.
The register page on the main club site is a bit barren too. I will try a PM!

I received an email from Kevan ( cayman@porscheclubgb.com ) a few days ago to which I was able to send a reply with no problems.
I’m not 100% sure whether Kevan needs to add you to the Cayman Register himself but I do know that if you edit your Forum Preferences you can select Cayman as your chosen register.

I just spotted an error in the email address you’ve quoted, there is an “e” missing from ”porscheclub”.

Plan to attend meetings every few months time permitting.
I'm 49 but have noticed on the various Cayman FB groups, etc. that Cayman prices are now bringing Porsche ownership within reach or younger car enthusiasts (say under 30yo) who traditionally didn't consider Porsche as being accessible. That must be changing the Porsche demographics - is it also being noticed within this Porsche Club?
As you say, Caymans have become more affordable and that makes them more attractive to younger buyers. One problem is that compared with say a hot hatch, on-going maintenance and repairs can be rather expensive and you have to question whether some buyers take this into account when making the purchase and subsequently skimp on tyres, maintenance and repairs. Thankfully Porsche Independents can help to keep costs down but parts are always going to be an expense.
Enjoy your Cayman and the benefits of Club Membership.

Yes, personally I waited until I was in a place where I could take the hit on any big maintenance costs and still enjoy the car. They are certainly worth it!
I had planned to get a 987 gen 2 but it's hard to view alot of examples from here in N. Ireland so when my mint Gen 1 appeared I couldn't resist. It's an 06 and engine number falls within the range of ones with stronger IMS bearing.

It may just be that things have moved on while I was on holiday ( a month riding a Royal Enfield Bullet around the South Island of NZ ) or that there has been an upgrade and I need to reset my password so I have emailed club office from my personal email address to get confirmation which I haven't been able to do while on holiday.
Anyone joining the register and updating their profile by using "My Profile" is automatically assigned to the register so should be on th emailing list, if they are moving from another register then the club doesn't know until they update their own profile and the register secretaries cannot do it for them.
Now that at last we have a new RS let's hope things get going in Caymanland once the restrictions are removed and we can enjoy driving our cars once again instead of just watching them collect dust.!

I have started a separate thread just for name, model and general location, a look up table. It still leaves this thread for member / membership discussion.
