Nothing official, but Rob and myself have decided that during the Holiday break that our cars may be getting a bit lonely [:D]
And following on from the Top Gear Special on the 28th that some people may be getting itchy tyres..[;)]
And the beauty of the Porsche is thats it can be used everyday...[;)]
We've even picked the 30th as its a weekday and hopefully the roads will be bit quieter.

So we have put a last minute meander together, nothing to our usal level, just an open invation to join us if you so wish.
We'll be leaving Donington Park services M1 at 10.30am approx (depends on Breakfast [:D]) before a gentle run along the backroads of the East Midlands and into the West Midlands...then at least if no-one else joins us we can still find our way home [;)]

We will stop for a few Hot chocolates wherever we can find a stable or a room followed on by a late lunch towards the centre of England (near the NEC, Birmingham)

We will be going come the majority of weather conditions, so have a think about it and let us know.

I have the OK from the Mrs.

2 hours to get there and I would pretty much go passed Center Gravity on route. I wonder if I can get up extra early and have Chris do my scheduled alignment check before we start. Hmmmm....

If Chris is available I might do the check on the way back. See if anyone else wants to come along too...

Is it worth asking if any of the Rennteam gang wants to join? Good recruiting for PCGB...

Alex
Its open to all, so be good to catch up with like minded people.

I'm sure if Chris is about we could drop in for coffee and biscuits, we almost pass by his place

Hi Gary,

I would like to put my name down for this if its OK to come along in my new Gen 11 Targa 4S that is?

Its in my back yard so to speak, so it would be nice to come along and be a part of a cruise, and also take some video and pictures of the event too.

Let me know the details and I look forwards to meeting up.

Nige.

Nigel and Peter you're both welcome to join us.....
However my Mrs seeing a Targa may cause me issues further down the line []

She saw one at the OPC and was quite taken by it !! [;)]

Gary,

Thanks and sorry its a girls car, and as Alex pointed out I made a mistake on the definition of my gen 2 car sorry for that.

Probably cant make it after all now, sorry I am not a member of this exclusive member only club.

So long.

Nigel.

Well if you can make it Nigel, do let me know... its certainly not a closed/members event and is open to all [:)]

I've never seen the Targa as a girls car..! a 911 Yes with the best of both worlds
My wife had a cabriolet and was really taken by the glass roof option of the Targa, she wasn't aware that you could get one with a panoramic roof which she's been looking at for a while... either way it may cost me!!!![]

I'm sorry if you've read my remarks any different to those intended [:(]

Plenty of time yet, so no rush to decide.

Sorry but can't join you on this occasion but hopefully you get a good turn-out!
Best wishes for Christmas and New Year!

Andy

Gary,

Thanks I will see what I can do, and if SWMBO allows me a pass out I will do my best to make it!!

You would be most welcome to have a good look around my car, I personally love it, and cant believe how much better it is to drive than my previous 997 4S Cab, even though that was only a year old!!

I also think that the PDK gearbox is a work of pure magic, it makes me love driving it even more, it helps when you get used to the buttons too!!

Hope to be able to make it for the cruise.

I will let you know.

Nige.

Nigel

With a pdk version on order myself, will be v. interesting to get your real life impressions first hand. Hope to see you on the 30th.

Peter

Peter,

Thanks I personally love it and I was one of those who said I will always have a manual, but I am a convert now.

Will be happy to give you all of my thoughts so far on the PDK.

Hope to see you on the 30th!

Nige.

Gary, you do realize that there is an R29 drive to Leamington Spa on the 30th also.

We will probably pass all the R29 guys at some point on the road!

I saw this listed in the Porsche Post diary, but I was unable to find any details of their event online.. or elsewhere in the club magazine[&:]
I'd perhaps email the RO (except its Christmas) and they may not want us on their shopping trip [;)]

Gary, good idea felt pretty lonely having a boxing day drive out this morning in a convoy of one. Unfortunately Jean is having her hair done on the 30th but I'm free so will join you if I may.

Paul

Paul

I will be on my own as will Rob (both our wives are at work [:)])

I went for a dry run today in the sunshine, great day to be out with the sunshine thats for sure [8D]
Pleased to report no roadworks, floods or massive potholes were found...
Plenty of bendy, dippy and challenging roads though along with some wonderful views across the surrounding area.

I'm just doing some small alterations to the route, but it looks to be about 120miles and approx 3.5hours of driving, with the usual stops and refreshments it looks like a full daylight run [:)]
Just got to make some phone calls to see if certain places of interest may be open or not.[;)]
