Christmas cruise 30/12/08

Hi Gary
John is at work that day, but I am not!!!!!!
he has waxed the car to death today for the autosports show (he he!!) but says I can go, have road tyres on, and daughter would like to join me , so as long as roads are not too slippery yes please!!!!! (and nobody to fight over the driving with!!!!!!!!!)
suppose could take the BMW if roads are bad!!
(John is busily checking the weather forecast!)

Jan

Be great to see you if you can make it... there are a couple of roads I will drop out if its heavy snow [&:] but the others were fine - although always better in the dry..[;)]
Both mine and Robs cars are on the Autosport stand...! We're making sure we give them the 'used look'..
Well actually its more likely it will give us a reason to clean the cars [:D]

Gary
Its not just the cars need to get out!
My son Tom & I would like to join you on 30th for a bit of excitement, so long as OPC don't find any problems with MOT on 29th
We'll be driving up the M1 from Junction 15a, so if anyone wants to travel up from their together, then we'll sort something.
It shouts like a good trip you've got organised, just like the Cotswold Trip last year.
See you on 30th
Jon

Can I bring up the rear in the KN? []

Peter

NO because i have booked the rear place for my 356but i am happy to follow the KN ifyou promise not to splash me with dirt ad salt from the roads [:-]

Are you sure you want to look at my ugly butt all day? Though some say it's rather attractive (the KN not me...)

the 356 will feel right at home behind a basalt cayenne S. we had one for 3+ years as out Tow car. we miss it and are seriously thinking about getting another.[:-]

Looks like it will be impossible for me guys - apparently Christmas is family time!!! And I thought my car was my baby.....

Gary

Being terribly lazy here, but to get to the Donny services, is that M42, A42, and then left (north) onto M1, or is is south onto M1??? and do you reckon about an hour from my gaff?? (traffic allowing)

Cheers Jan

ps do not even ask about the two way radios for Xmas.......John went and bought me some virtually identical ones as those I got him, so we now have 2 sets!!!!!!!!! (great minds think alike and all that!!!!!)

Hi Gary, Would like to join the party on tuesday, and I'm trying to arrange to drive up with Jon from jnt 15a . Thoroughly enjoyed the cross country convoy from the BMW plant to Stratford in the summer,so looking forward to seeing the lanes in your neck of the woods. Regards. Mike Allen Cobalt Blue 997TT

Hi Gary,

Got the OK from SWMBO, what time are you guys going to get to the services? About 10AM or earlier than that?

I am close to where Jan lives, actually in Wythall so it should take me no more than 45 Mins from my location to the services.

Jan if you want to meet up locally to head up to Donnington I am happy to do that too, if I can manage to keep up with your GT3 in my little old Targa that is!!

Looking forwards to meeting up with you guys on Tuesday.

I will be getting to the services for about 10am for a coffee and to meet any that are having a bite to eat prior to leaving.
Rob is pushed for time that morning so I believe he will be getting there more on the 10.30 time...

After the chat and introductions its hoped to be mobile for about 10.45

I have a list of names and will post a contact number just prior (or its in Porschefile)

Gary,

OK point taken thanks for that!!!

I will try to get there for around 10AM also.

I will ping you with my mobile number when I have the list of contacts from you.

Nige.

Hi Gary & Rob
Sorry cannot join you, but totally 'Porscheless' at the moment and following you guys in the E320 oil burner would not be much fun, even if we could keep up!!! [;)]

Have a great day... See you in the new year once the White Charger arrives.. [:D]

Ok, cleared with Chris having my alignment/ride-height/corner-balance checked at Center Gravity tomorrow after our run.

He is based in Atherstone just NE of Birmingham so if anyone wants to come down with me and watch then please let me know. Chris will get in some mince pies for everyone! He just needs to know in advance how many.

We also need to bear in mind that tomorrow's high temperature is supposed to be only 1 degree C around the Birmingham area. The morning is meant to be -3 degrees C and foggy too!

Please everyone plan/drive accordingly

Guys,

I have mounted my bullet cam from my Caterham in my Targa for the little jaunt tomorrow.

Here is a link to the test footage taken today on you tube:

Targa On Board

Sorry about the poor audio, it seems to get worse during compression for upload.

See you on the Ice - quite literally in the morning.

Nige.
