Christmas cruise 30/12/08

Nige, happy to meet up to travel up, don't believe Gary, am sure you can all run rings around me!!

Slightly bothered by reports of ice, not the best car for this weather!!!!

where to meet and when, pm me,
Jan

Yes, see you all in the morning.. hopefully not to much Ice though [:'(]
Brilliant footage from the camera[8D]

Robert, sorry you can't make it, hopefully the wait will be well worth it though.

There is a Shell station just across the road from the finishing point and obviously there is overpriced stuff at the start point (not Shell- thats down the A50 about 5 miles)
The route is roughly 120 miles and a tank will easily cover it.

Hi Guys and Gals,
Shall be with you in spirit but regretfully, not in body Please tell Alex to not forget his welding torch for warming up his tyres prior to the spirited motoring commencing - also Tom to not be so whimpish (he's larger than Jackie) and just get out there and do it! :ROFLMAO:

Leadboot boys rule, OK! [8|]

Have a great run folks and a Happy New Year! [:)]

Regards,
Clive

Myself (&Nicky) will be coming up from Reading with Simon (black gen 2 Carrera S).

We will be going the Oxford > Birmingham back-route to avoid the M4, M25 and M1 morning traffic. Hopefully not too icy though.

I am planning to split off from the main convoy after about 1pm to go to Center Gravity workshop. Me and Nicky are planning on having lunch at San Giovanni Italian restaurant around the corner whilst Chris works on my car for the required 2-3 hours. If Chris gets done early then I might try to catch up with everyone on the last leg of the drive.

Here is a link to the test footage taken today on you tube...
Very interesting - that's the first time I've ever seen a PDK being driven! I think you need to do something about the audio, though. It might be an auto level control - nastly clicking too.

Sorry - off topic! Have a good day out tomorrow. Sadly your jaunt is a bit too far away from me.

You are half the distance away than me or Simon. Tom I believe has the furthest journey from Essex. Milton Keynes is only 1 hour away from the starting point!

great turn out at Donington services

i tagged along for the first few miles behind the beautiful early 911targa of Drummerboytom, then as i am still running in my new engine i left them all to play.

It was indeed a great turnout!! Sadly i couldnt stay for the full drive because of xmas commitments(seems to go on forever lol)
I brought up the rear (meteor gen2 s)following a rather well driven cayenne s, that thing can really move!! I had to leave 10 minutes into the drive but would love to come along to another meet. Cheers for now.

Great drive, thanks again to Gary for organising (including maps). Stayed with the group until the pub-stop at Tur Langton, then had to head home.

Ah, that looks better, I'll add a few images now - this is my machine back at Donington Services (couple more to follow):

First watering hole at Tur Langton - I think there are 3 vehicles parked but not in the picture and unfortunately, I had to reduce the number further a few minutes later. Will try to join you all again sometime in the new year.

Although it was a late decision to tag along it proved to be a good call. As always on these events great roads and great company but being blessed with sunshine also made this a great way to end the year. Thanks to Gary for putting another successful drive together.

Guys,

Thanks again for a great day out and for organizing the sunshine too.

It was great to meet lots of new people and put a face to the names and cars!!

Also a big thanks to Gary for organizing and planning the route so well, we only had a few missed junctions.

I will post my pictures of the day first, followed bt the clips from the POV video too.

Thanks again,

Nige.

Thanks for a really fun day Gary, well planned and run (as usual!)

really lucky with the weather,

Great to meet up with new and old friends
