Come and Exhibit @ the Stoke Goldington Steam Rally - 7th & 8th May

Steve

I spoke to you (I think it was you!) at the last meeting re exhibiting my 993 C2 on the Saturday. If you still need cars I would love to be involved so please let me know.

Cheers,

Ravi

Hi Ravi - yes, I do remember you and also your kind offer ! It would be great to have you along for SAT or SUN.

If you could please look into the earlier part of this thread, or click here, for the website listing all the forms (2) you have to download etc.

The only other thing we need, is a single page A4 car description - again, the template is on the R10 events website

Could you please PM me to establish contact etc ?

Cheers

STEVE

PS - don't forget, it is a family thing and all occupants of your car get in for buckshee so along with the free fireworks, it's great value

All car descriptions are laminated. Paul and I will be up there tomorrow from ~2:00 and will be posting the details of where we are / what we find etc under personal e-mails.

Rgds

Steve

Dear all

I have just returned from setting up the Gazebo on the plot in time for tomorrow (thanks for your help Paul)

The organisation is perfect - we have an "L" shaped plot, with the Gazebo @ the Apex.

This post is to let you know more about the logistics for SAT and SUN:-

Make sure you have your Orange pass. No pass, no entry
Arrive in good time. It gets busy early and we have been advised to get there ~ 8:30 to 9:00 latest.
Bring chairs if you want to sit down near the Gazebo.
Upon arrival, display your pass in the front window - you will be directed to the road, but you will be expected to know where to go by yourself.
OK. - I have taken some piccies (lots in fact) and one of them shows the landmark to look out for to find our plot. - LOOK FOR THE YELLOW TOWER WITH THE LIGHTS ON.....or the big blue "thing". Our Gazebo is nearby.
We are right in the thick of it - near loo's arena, tea tent...and so on... It's perfect.
The road leading to our area is dry, and a touch undulating, but nothing severe. I think (GLEN) any car can make it down the road, but please do go slowly for your own sanity. If in doubt I suggest you stick one wheel on the middle hump, and the other on the side.
We have been up and down it in Paul's 944 and my taxi, without any troubles (but, it is a little dusty...)
We are close to the beer tent [8D]

If you are camping (Mel) then it's quite obvious where to go...Security is excellent. Remember, we live on an island in the North Atlantic...our weather is unpredictable....[:(] We can organise the cars any way we like, but I think a herringbone pattern will do the job nicely.

There are heaps of stands, tents, things for the kids etc etc....and dodgems for the "bigger kids" - (got to be a challenge right ?? [;)])

OK

You all have my number, and I have all of yours. so, if you need help, or get stuck, please do call me - I'll do what I can.

Cheers and see you all over the weekend.

Glad to hear that it's all in order this year.

I'll be sure to watch out for the yellow tower with lights and the big blue thing!

The cameras are packed for Sunday and as the beer tent is close by I dont' need to pack beer. Is there anything else you could do with on Sunday?

Is there anything else you could do with on Sunday?

One of the Porsche Flags would be ideal (like the ones we used @ Eynsham)

Any offers ?

Hi guys,

Great day!! Good to chat to new faces and old. Weather wasn't toooo bad once we got over a little bit of rain and most of the afternoon was nice and sunny. Took a few pics.

Great day Steve,

Thanks for organising, and the polishing assistance[;)]

Hi Steve

Thanks for organising the day. Good day out and great to meet a few more club members.

Next year we'll have to arrange a 1/4 mile drag against the traction engines ! [:D]

Hope it goes well tomorrow.

Keep up the polishing !

Glenn,

I have to admit to no special secret. The Fabspeed tips are mirror finished out of the factory and I find the occasional rub over with Autosol keeps them exactly as you saw them today.

I also have to admit to getting a little kick out of the fact that the guy with a GT3 AND a Turbo cab can find something to admire on my little beast!!! It was good to meet you - we'll do it again soon I'm sure. I might even be tempted to take up your suggestion of a PCGB Track Day!!

Regards

Dave

(edit: whoops - spelt your name wrong!!)

Great day at an ace event. Good company certainly helped the time fly by. There might have been a few clouds around in the morning but I got roasted this afternoon, have been trowelling on the after-sun since I got home [8D]

Sorry I will miss tomorrow but tons of work to do, have another good one and see you all again soon. Cheers everyone!

Few more; Mr Taverner's beauty in the centre - came all the way from Essex!

Mr. Darnell's new smooth front end, Mr. Hicks' exceedingly tidy 944 to the left

Mine now on 7's and 8's and Gary's car was as clean as ever [;)]

"So, what do you think of the 6 pot calipers on the GT3RS...and how about the revised DCM on the overhead under-slung... nah, I prefer the anti-dive technology offered by the piezo force aligned strain system. It's a great system for when you are under power in mid corner...on Eu Rouge"

Alt:-

"I like your shoes..."
