Cotswold rally

Hi Guys,

In case you hadn't noticed, the Cotswold Rally on the 22nd April is fast becoming booked up. If you want to join us, get onto Geoff Ives as soon as possible and reserve a space. Full details are on the members only forum.

There is a prize for the largest Register presence, which we really should win. At the moment the Boxsters have the edge, and even though I'm not the competitive sort I'd really prefer that we beat them. Soundly.

For those who are already booked, the car count is done on cars displaying the new Register stickers, (or "decals" as they are known in the trade [;)]) so if you haven't sae'd me for one please do so. Thank you.

We're booked in at no. 65. This means there are a few places left, so can we fill them with 944s please? Who else is going?

How laid back were you in booking then? Beaky is Nº 6 .......although he's not a number he's a free car.......so many youngsters are going to be saying "What the hell is he talking about?"......again. [:D]

Thats strange. I dont have a Lotus 7 reg.no.KAR120C entered [:D]

For your information. At this time we have 80 entries (100 is the limit) and the strongest Register is 944

So 3 more people to book then the best number is given out... [:D]

I might come along, but I'd be counting against the 944 register if I did so you don't really want me. It's a date that rings a bell as a commitment for something else, too.

Tried to go to Portmeierion for my 40th last year, still not made it. Or bought the Caterham. I will be following beaky with a beach ball though. [:)]

Debbie and I sent off our cheque on Monday so all being well that's another two 944's booked in [:D]

It's certainly filling up fast now, I bet my tardiness has blown our chance of a free T-shirt.

It wasn't a Caterham. IT WAS A LOTUS 7.

I KNOW - THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT [:D][:D][:D]

I want a Caterham, with the wider body [;)], a modern engine and a radio. (The Archers waits for no man......) I want it in green, with a yellow nose. And, I want that reg. no. And, I'll want smaller feet......

Apparently, I want doesn't get......[][]

I spent 5 days at MPH '06 on the stand next to the Lotus 7 Club. I believe I was told rather more than my brain needed about the history of the model.....[&:]

So. A Catertus 7 or a Loterham 7, it's all the same to me!

Apparently, a rare model called the "996" has equalled the 944 entry.

I assume you guys don't want to be beaten in our silver anniversary year?

I can't believe that another ten of you don't want a really cheap fun day out??? [:)]

C'mon troops, one more push for the old Register!

Go on then Paul count me in - If I can afford to put some petrol in "The Devil I know" when all the work has been done !
Will send you an SAE for the stickers.

You won't be sorry, this is an excellent days entertainment, I think this will be our 4th Year.

Obviously it isn't a race but it is surprising what other cars you might catch en route. There is much mirth when four of you all realise you are going the wrong way at the same time and then all try to turn around in a farm gate. [:D]. More fun when you are retracing the wrong route to see a gaggle of Porsche coming toward you, having also taken the same wrong turning. Obviously we have misread the route instructions as these are faultless. [;)]

There is a big burger van outside HQ at the start, so plenty of chance to load up on high energy bacon rolls while kicking tyres and meeting chums.

Geoff sorts out some fabulous roads - last years were exceptional. I don't know if we have been past the home of a Mr J Clarkson yet but there is always that possibility. Granted it can be a bit frustrating when you are making "discrete progress", catch up to, and then get stuck behind a 996 Turbo. One is given to wonder why some people have Porsches [;)]

Thankyou for the link Graeme although my login denies me access.
I am a PCGB member ( 50605 ) ?

Phone or e-mail HQ and they will set your forum tag to Member - it still says non member currently.

After running no.69 last year (I wonder if Geoff thought I would roll ...) it is my duty to inform you that one of us who booked early is running no.4 [;)] [;)]

Funily enough, a week later, I'm running No.2 in the JEC London Brighton Run.

Come on guys, I'm working on a special '944 Costwold Rally 2007' decal as part of my limited edition 2007 series.

Lets see how many 944's we can get. Sign in here and add to the numbers.

Fen - I can rent you 'baby WUF' for the day [:D] [:D]

Baby WUF - there's an option. If only it weren't red [8D]

Actually I spoke to Andy Moss (my indie) and he has 2 customers looking to sell very nice S2s that he has been looking after for years (both have no cam issues), and one of them is Glacier blue (of course the other is Guards, but it's a late one with 55k miles), so if I wanted another 944 I could easily get one. I don't really though, for purely financial reasons.

Stop poncing about and put an engine in the 944 "Land Glider". At least you will be able to use it then. [;)]

I hope you have all noticed how reverently silent I have been since Fen has had engine issues. I made a conscious decision to keep quiet as last time I ripped so much from that it backfired on me for 17 months. I am never saying anything derogatory again and whenever Fen mentions his engine I shall just look concerned for him and maybe nod understandingly.

I really hope we see him in Baby Wuf though [:D]
