Cotswold rally

ORIGINAL: knightma

Another 944, I scraped in at No 99 I think. My first event (except for Malvern in the 90's and Highclere a few years back) in 17 years membership. Looking forward to it.

You were in fact the last entry as 100 had been allocated earlier to a sponsor.

You could always come in your 944.....unless you like being sneered at and treated with disdain. [:D]

That's odd, I get sneering and disdain at all times [&:]

I'm holding off my Directorship vote until this Register prize looks like it's in the bag [:D]

You will be abstaining then. The rally is after the end of voting and you wouldn't expect me to tell you you have won and upset the lesser Registers now would you? [;)]

Have we got the final tally of cars by register? I will be bringing stickers on the day guys.

Just a thought, can we count 924s models as baby 944?

Perhaps we could kid people they are prototype 944's. Or, I could knock up some extended arches in MDF for them.

Obviously, there are so few 968's they might as well register as S3 944's [:D]

[:D]

Don't you mean retrospective prototypes? The 944 came out in 1982 and the 924S in 1985.[8D]

You can't help but admire Porsche for their efficiency. Who else would think of doing that? [:D]

See 'Cotswold Rally' thread on the 'Members Only' pages.

So that 944 owners aren't unnecessarily delayed in getting to the thread here is a link:-

The Sims familly will be there in force with Mostyn to keep Peter in check. Both of them are getting a bit big for the back of a 944 now though.

At the moment we will be getting up at silly o'clock so if anyone wishes to join us at Soth Mimms I will try to get my head around a time.

Dont fancy getting up at silly o clock so will stay closer than chez Sims [:)] we will be in Brum Friday night, but I am currently getting a good deal at Eynsham (working nearby) so might go for that on the saturday, It will be Yasmines first Porsche event - so far she has demonstrated good taste by smiling broadly when on boost, not sure how she will take to being in the car all day though.
Tony

Am going but likewise it won't be a silly o'clock start experiencing the wonders of South Mimms for me this time. My brother in law is tagging along on this occasion and as his and my sisters home is over near Oxford am travelling over there on the Saturday (having picked the car up from Dr Promax on route) in order to have a more civilised start to the Sunday.

The full Smith family will be there, Debbie in her S2 but I will be in my works VW van [:(] as LIL is still at Jons.

I promise to park it round the back and will try really hard not to cause a moving roadblock on the lovely Cotswold lanes that Geoff will no doubt be sending us around [8D]

It's not a promotion exercise for my business I promise.

Lol, if I manage to make it along I will be the shop van too. We should start a splinter group [:D] Ours is a VW so it's almost related [8|].

Shame to hear Lil isn't back yet, any particular hold up?

There is no speed element, just enjoy the drive and your visit to Ragley Hall.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Presentaions including certificates for completing the event will at Cornbury House at 4pm[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

We'll be there...my first event too. Driving up from Oxfordshire, so I'm looking forward to a good drive up through Burford and Stow. The earlier we start the less traffic there'll be! Geoff's information sheet says breakfast and sign on from 0900, leave from 0930.

Look forward to meeting you and hope you have a good time. Geoff normally organises very good events [:)]

If there are any other fairly new members coming then please feel free to search out some of the old 'regulars'. It's very easy to get cliquey when a few of us have known eachother for years. Peter and I should be easy to find in our vans :ROFLMAO:

Peter, I'm having the new windscreen fitted on Tuesday then it can be MOT'd. Then Jon can finally tune the timing so I can run higher boost safely. Everything else is done (bar a few cosmetics like door cards, external badges and stickers etc)
