Curborough 3 - Annual 964 register/Rennlist day

Due to drop outs, there is at least one place available. Let me know if anyone wants to join us. Doesn't necessarily have to be a 964 either [;)]

hi steve just looking at the date this is the end of british summer time so clocks go back saterday night just thought i would mention it [:)]

Absolutely Ray. I will mention that in my final e-mail aswell which I'll send out the week before. At the moment I'm more worried about the spare place we now have and the three people that haven't paid up/confirmed they're coming yet, to make sure that the cost of the circuit hire is covered. [&:]

My Mrs was asking me whether she should come & join us. From the 2 times I've been before I don't remember any ladies present, it was just a load of blokes kicking tyres and trying to get their cars round in one piece. She won't be sitting in with me on my laps, despite my pedestrian pace, she'll still be telling me to slow down...[8|] I presume the price includes passenger food/drink as she'll have a pretty good go at her coffee ration! I don't want to put her off but I don't think it will be much fun for her as if we get the usual weather it will be cold and/or wet with nowhere to get cover or get warm. Will the toilet block be open on the day? Anyone else bringing their partner?

A buttie and cuppa is included in the cost for the paying participants - that was the only way I could ensure that they will open for us (they didn't cover their costs last year). Obviously anyone else can buy food/drink for a modest cost. Toilets will be open. At Curborough 1 there were quite a few partners and spectators there....but it was Sunny for that one! [8D]

Colin, She can sit with me in the e-bay car -heater on full-watch a DVD on the fantastic Ripspeed built in entertainment console[:)]-whilst you're on track-sadly my darling wife wouldn't come with me,yet when we were in our early marriage years,we went rallying, did sprints ,parking tests, watched rallycross etc (all in a tuned Austin A30). I could even bring some knitting for her!

Wow, there's an offer! - almost got me interested too, just for the Ripspeed audio console alone. Stop check... what's putting me off is it'll probably be playing out Duane Eddy or Glen Flippin Campbell.. knowing you...

Marcus, Where do you get this stereotype from?As an ex-rock & roll band member,it could be some Duane Eddy more likely Beatles-but these days Oscar Peterson or Dave Brubeck Quartet. However, the music I play on the piano or my Technics GX100 organ is mainly big band swing.

Another place available due to a drop out. I wish people wouldn't sign up and then let us down after the thing has been booked...grrr! []

Steve, I've posted on the R18 forum for other interested parties-how many gaps have you got-also a friend of mine from Ludlow might come up to watch but can't confirm yet as it is half term for his grandkids-however although not a PCGB member his is a MAC member & frequently goes to Shelsey Walsh & could on the day bring his big engined Anglia.-possibly paying on the day.

Thanks Colin. At the moment I've plugged the gaps of the two drop outs (see first page) but in all I'm waiting for 3 payments so I'm in for 150 quid out of my own pocket at the moment (one, I have been assured that I will receive). It's only after spending a lot of time chasing some of the non-payers that they finally told me that they weren't coming after all! Therefore, I now have to take the stance that anyone who comes up with a payment gets a place. Your friend would be welcome if there is still an unpaid space, come the day (it's not necessary to be a PCGB member - it's a private event that I run for this forum and the 964 Rennlist forum).

You should check the cassettes in Marcus's glovebox...all self help tapes and the Best of T'Pau...

LoL, nothing wrong with The Best of T'Pau all on one LP..! I'm hoping they'll be some pics or YouTube of Curburough antics - please...

I was thinking, for duffers like me, it might be nice to walk the course together at the start of the day to discuss lines etc. Or maybe I'm the only duffer...[&:]
