Curborough 3 - Annual 964 register/Rennlist day

There should be a bit of time before we're allowed on the track for you to walk it. You can also come in my car when I do the initial low speed sweep of the circuit to check it's OK before we go live. I'm also aiming to jump in your passenger seat at some point to encourage you to go a bit faster [;)]

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes Just one place left to fill now.
Hi Steve, Can't be 100% i'll be there yet but if your short of one on the day i'll take it so your not out of pocket. Coming over with Greg so we can do the flag waving for you. Andy.

Thanks Andy. You (or anyone else) will be welcome to the spare place on the day if it's still available. ....if not, we'll just have to have an extra run round the track [:D]

Might be a bit windy, but should be dry. Means I can't blame my incompetent driving on a wet track and worn rear tyres...[&o]

Hi Guys Good to meet up with you all - friends new and old! Had to leave early so only got the first runs, but I think I got a few pics of most participants! Some are posted, in reduced resolution, on my Photobucket site - [link=http://s787.photobucket.com/albums/yy158/A9XXC/964s%20at%20Curborough/]Curborough 964s[/link] - but there are a few more. I can email 2 or 3 to anyone or can send a cd with all of theirs on for a small consideration. Here's a couple -

Great Photos Mike! Nice one Steve, had a great day (despite only eating whatever was lying around in Lee's C2...Quavers, Winegums etc. )

I know Nick & I again had a great day-very many thanks to you Steve for arranging it again-looking forward already to next year, hopefully with the addition of a rear antiroll bar & replacing the existing front one with the turbo one I tried to fit yesterday until the last bolt started to turn in the alloy rubber bush holder on the nearside front wishbone.[]. Great to meet up with everyone again-special thanks to Kevin for being so polite about my place in the queue! Still quite hungry[&o]

Now settled down after a great day & had a sneak preview of your pics,Mike-they're really good-especially of that 924S with attitude[:)]

Yet another thanks to Steve - great day and might yet go faster if I'd removed the rollers, curling tongues and GHDs from the boot.... Mike you're an absolute star. We are so lucky to have a fellow enthusiast that comes along to as many of these meets as possible and takes some lovely photos to remind us of a great day out. Thank you so much. [:)] Here's some on Mike's site that I've linked to that give a real flavour of a brilliant day out:

What a great day. Brilliant weather and some fantastic track action. A big thank you to Greg and Andy for controlling the start gate and keeping the records. They did a brilliant job and meant that I could have a few goes myself this year. Also thanks to Ray and David (Curborough secretary) for the sheep herding [:D] It's difficult to compare the times to last year because we had very little dry running then but I must say that the times people put in this year were very impressive. Hats off to you all for really going for it...although I'm not speaking to Kevin now for nicking the C2 class on his last run! [:D] Once I've typed them all up I'll e-mail them out so you can all reflect on how you got on. Suffice to say that Chris W (964 RS ngt) topped the timed sheets but the battle for the other podium places was a very close fight [:)] The only blot on the day was the catering c*ck up - entirely their fault for forgetting us! But at least we got some drinks for the last couple of hours. Speaking of which, I only spent a portion of the included catering cost so have ended up with 50 quid still in the kitty. Rather than try to send you all £3.33 as a refund I propose that we give it to charity - so if anyone has a charity close to their heart (preferably with a just giving site), shout up and I'll send them the money on our behalf. Also, if anyone didn't get a 'Curburgring' [:D] sticker for their car, let me know (I have a couple spare in black or silver) and I'll send you one. I'll check what photos and video I have and post them up [:)]

You beat me to it ,Steve-I'll second that-I guess winegums & lemon drizzle cake enhance the timekeeping capabilities-still trying to work out how Marcus can be old enough to have Greg as a son-in-law[8|]. All pics are great as well as Nicks'-but I must cure the body lean. As to charity, what a good idea & how about the the Armed Services one-the correct title just escapes me-but includes "heros" remembered-Help for Heros.

ORIGINAL: Melv And the times were???[;)]
We do a shortened sprint where the start is level with the gate to the lower paddock. From there it's left round the loop, round the loop again and over the finish line. I run it this way so that folks aren't arriving at the turn in to the loop at such a speed that things could turn nasty if they got it wrong. Best was a 59 and a few of us were in the 60 to 62 range (haven't got the tenths to hand) I would say that you would have to add about 5 seconds if we had started at the proper start line. It was nice and dry.
