engine re-build. oouch!

still not got the car back so bills still growing..

seems some joker at some time in the past..took the engine apart and replaced several parts with cheap imitations which don't fit .so damaging the engine..

lesson to be learnt here boys... if doing DIY on your car make sure the bits you buy on the cheap are real Porsche bits as it will cost you big time in the future....wish i had had a full inspection done on this car before i bought it.[&o]

So say they!?! "....it looks like a car but it's been driven by a boy racer........yes I've ripped people off......" Ring any bells [8|]

Depressing as it feels now it'll be worth it in the end, Just think no more hassle fom the engine for 150K+ miles :)

Is that tyre smoke coming from the front? I always thought Boxsters were dodgy, you want to do it like this:

It might be the front, but I'm never quite sure which end is which with a Boxster. The smoke could of course be comming from the middle following RMS failure dumping oil onto the exhaust. [:D]

Damn! It takes me so long to type that Mr Downing beat me to it. [;)]

collected my car on friday from Zentrum its like new (well it just about is new)and is wonderful to drive..
took it up to Raby Castle show in North Yorkshire where it had a hoon around the countryside with a group of its (classic porsches) older siblings. then went to the show and won 2nd place in the concours[8D]might have done better but i forgot to take the logbook so 10 points got deducted[&o]

I think they make it look like a girl's car [:D]

Glad to hear that you are now enjoying your '44, and long may it continue.

I think it looks "racier".

Nice. [8D]

I do think everyone in the photo is taking the roadsign a bit too literally though...

Excellent news Helen [:)] I can't wait to see it. A freshly rebuilt 3 litre must be so smoooooth. So that's now Helen and Fen with cars back on the road before mine. Boo hoo [:(]

Jon - Helen is most definitely a girl ,you need to concentrate more [8|]

Far from it, there is no doubt in my mind as to Helen's gender [8D]. I was merely pointing out that one needs to consider styling issues when modifying cars. Lets be honest, as Helen is a girl, we wouldn't want her to make the mistake of putting in net curtains, or chintz seat covers and tapestry cushions. The odd tasselled throw and scented candle would be fine.
