Andrew, I'm not sure I agree with that, I think a few simple steps would encourage more take up (wider audience not just numbers) and that would include.
[ul][*]Having a novice/beginner specific session early in the day.[*]Offering tuition for which the club already does, but also a chance for more experienced drivers to saddle up with novices, this works on several layers, build relationships within the club, and when the track becomes open again and you're up behind 'joe' in front, you now personally know him/her and are more likely to give a bit more space if required.[*]Keep numbers low on track, as said before PCGB track days are not cheap and from what I've seen thus far more expensive than mainstream events, for this I believe the offset should be less numbers on track. To compensate just run more track days! [/ul]Just my thoughts.
