Looks like a plan, point 21 is Fish Hill, so no bypassing that bit [8D]ORIGINAL: Alex L
Excellent!!
Gary, perhaps we should do day1's route, then when we get to Broadway head south east (steps 20 to 34 on your old map)?

Weather wise it was a slow start to the day and the sun didn't break through until after lunch. After Lunch however its been blue skies and Alex has been snapping away with his camera.
Finally made it to finish at the Trout, which I think is a superb finish point to eat, drink and chat- a great setting [8D]
The roads were dry and dusty giving some impressive rooster tails behind us..
I'll let the other guys comment on the route but I thoroughly enjoyed the drive.. combination of day 1 and 2 were done..
24mpg today but sadly refilled the tank with fuel 5p a litre more expensive than yesterday!! [:'(]
Everyone seemed really happy with the improvements they have made to their cars, both of them left mine sounding a bit muted to say the least[], my fault came back at a rather embarrassing time.. on a hair pin going up a hill and only 0.2bar of boost!!
Alex and Tom, great to meet up and I appreciate the effort it takes to venture up to the Cotswolds region.

We decided to try to combine the 'official' Cotswold day1 and day2 routes. Personally though I found the day1 route better in that the day2 route (more south Cotswolds towards Oxford) had more villages packed close together (ie. less open roads), more traffic and much more uneven road surfaces.
Started the morning meeting up at Gaydon Heritage motor museum where we had a cup of tea. Myself and Tom got there first:
First stop was in Chipping Norton to stretch our legs:
Next stop the Tower near Broadway:
Next we had lunch in Broadway itself and then afterwards headed south east on the day2 route.
Finally we finished for a drink in the Trout Inn Wolvercote just outside Oxford:
Many thanks to Gary and Tom for a MOST enjoyable day!

Great photos, Alex. Whenever I park like that some kind soul in a beaten up wreck always manages to squeeze in between[][] I like the way the sun is reflecting off the back of Tom's in one of those! Was that a starburst filter or photoshop?
I photoshop'ed out a few unwanted cars from the pics! The 'sparkles' are really just what the camera caught though. Was great to see the sun come out in the afternoon.
Much better journey back on the M25 than out
Alex, Gary great to meet up and go out for a run again - thanks driving progressively and waiting around for me not simply hammering it and leaving the poor guy in the C2S behind.
I agree with Alex in general the Day 1 route was better, although there was a great twisty up and down road near the end - like a little slice of the Nurburgring, however the surface was very bobbly and I was down to fumes in the tank so the front and back end got rather lively (terrible stop start cross London journey meant an overall average of 21mpg, 19.9mpg before the run home)
Fish hill as always was fabulous even though we got caught behind two slow cars on the way down, the way up made up for it[]
Great Photo's Alex
Exhaust is starting to find its voice and is most pleasing - nothing like a day trying to hang onto Gary's tail at 3k -6k revs all day to run any new bits in (not to mention the 240 mile round trip to get to the Cotswolds). Alex's is still louder but my exhaust is now a good loud low growl from 3k revs onwards - much louder than the OEM PSE. Last time out with the PSE I couldn't hear it over Alex's[8|]
Definite increase as well in power/ grunt as I was being dropped more slowly than previously - the killer is as always the turbo's mid range any gear/ any rev's punch (its called 480lbft torque). Once wound up a bit though I was loosing more ground through the corners (less grip, less skill and less sorted chassis/ suspension) than on the straights - it seems to bear out my initial impression that the power upgrades probably halved the performance gap between the C2S and standard Turbo. It seems to really pull from 3k rpm onwards, below that it pulls at least as hard as before and is quite civilised but there is a real step up in performance at the 3k point to the red line. Breaks were superb all day.
All in all very pleased with the mods, however back to those issues on the corners - Grip can't do much about 2 wd, skill working on it and making slow progress, chassis - ahh! So booked in with Alex's guru late May to sort the suspension and chassis set up out. Well see what improvements that makes (a lot I hope). There was a lot of bouncing and sliding going on to try and keep in touch with the Turbo boys yesterday, hopefully next time it'll be smoother and more progressive.
The dark side calls, soon it will be the posh PASM Bilsteins, then the Carbon Metallic breaks.............No must be good, can't afford it, must not[8D]

You certainly weren't the only one bouncing about looking for grip...! []
However as you point out maybe the Turbo does have that bit extra for keeping on the power whilst hunting for the extra traction.
Maybe being as the first set of roads are ones I play on quite regularly the latter ones stood out for me (prior to the petrol station) and the mini Alpine section really does let the Porsche setup shine through.
Really pleased you and Alex got to test your new setups
I'm pleased to say that the Gaydon route only includes a couple of the roads we used yesterday so no fun spoiled for us there []
Toms car is becoming a right 'sleeper' so the GT2 might stand out a bit for him, from looking over the car externally there is little to give away the upgrades made to it, something that I think Tom appreciates []
The only pictures I took were the same as Alex's at the carpark, I hope everyone has noticed how we did park between the lines...[] and on the way out Yes someone had parked next to me !!

Took a while to respond there Tom - thought you'd been off to put down a deposit! Your next car sounds good, but can you wait that long??[]
Allan
No but the state of my bank account tells me I have to, credit crunch is killing my business at the moment - so no big toys until we get some kind of recovery and I get some more business through the door. So I'll have to tinker with the current toy until then.[]

Can I just point out to all those watching.. that all spoilers were activated manually for posing points [][]
My car has been in tonight and no issues were reported back to me, the car drove great to and from the OPC, so may just be an issue of the car standing...
Tested on the way back and 1.0 is obtainable []
