Got my baby!!

ORIGINAL: sc0tty No not really mate, most 944 sheds are up in the North of England, due to all the rain, mud tractors and cowsh1t on the road.
I think I got a bite off Scotty [:D] Don't tell me tha shed of yours is scared of getting wet!!!!
Not a bite at all, you best get back to mucking out your cow shed, in fact I am surprised you even have access to t'internet where you come from. Of course you could just be bitter for owning a lowly 994 S?, the model that never sold much when new, and is even less popular now !! [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
It's a bite..... yet again you resort to having a dig at other forum posters, cos you can't take a joke. [:D] Shows how much you know about the North of England... My nice 20 meg connection, is quite useful for for my home network. I guess you think I am a farmer.... wrong... I'm an Instrument engineer. Living on the edge of the Lake District gives me access to some of the best driving roads in the country, miles better than the roads and traffic you have to suffer!!! And yes I have driven on roads down there... Been to reading several times on courses. Yep I drive an S, but that doesn't make it any less of a 944.... hopefully Frenchy will sell me one of his Turbos.....

ORIGINAL: scam75 I've not found much that can keep up with a '44 turbo when you stretch it's legs in 4th/5th![:D]
... apart from, of course, an S2? [;)]

I'd say that is a rare model indeed. I've never seen one, and I don't think I have heard of one either ... [:)] Does that mean that Sc0tty is gone for good? A shame. I actually quite liked him (and not just 'cos us S2 owners need to stick together); I thought he was an unusual enthusiast who genuinely loved his 944. He did ask some sensible questions, and also made some good contributions. Snag was that he was always a bit too quick to be quite rude, and in a small group of people that gets on peoples nerves after a while. Without being patronising, I felt sorry for him and will be sorry to see him go, if he has indeed been given the boot. Not to say he didn't deserve it - he did, several times over, and the patience of the moderators has been immense - but I suspected he wasn't entirely beyond redemption. If anyone comes across him in person at a club event (I understand he did attend a few of them) then be gentle with him. On my account, if no-one else's. Ah well. Back to red 944's ... of course, a baltic blue S2 would have trounced the pair of red ones, but I am sure it made for a good show for the great unwashed ... ! [;)] Oli.

Jammy so-and-so. Whereabouts? My late grandparents owned a large estate just outside Broughton-in-Furness, which was beautiful in the extreme. It's still in the family, but I am finding it harder and harder to make the time to go up there. It's a long, long way from London, in all senses of the word. Oli.

ORIGINAL: James Ball Back on topic - that's a lovely looking 944. I think might have seen you in Felden on Saturday, unless there were two very shiny S2's in Hemel on Saturday... which is entirely possible, of course.
Thanks for the comment James. Where's Felden? Never heard of it. There were two shiny S2's in Hemel on Saturday, mine and Robs[:D]

Oh, we wouldn't have come straight past, we were blasting up the M1 - although the offer of a cuppa is always tempting and appreciated [;)]

Nice looking car.. Hmmm might have to start looking again.. The wifes S2 cab is proving to be very good only a flat battery though lack of use. Other than that very happy with it.. If i get one I will want an S2 or a basic very early 924 late 70's one end of the scale to the other I know but that's me.. PCGB people talking B****s on line narr you sure LOL [;)][:D] glad some one was sorted by the mods.. I love red when it's as deep as yours.. nice.

When I was about 18 ( acouple of years ago ) a local blonde lady drove an S. It was white with the reg POR 944S. It was brand new when she had it and all my friends thought she was stunning and the owner was good looking as well.i think that's where part of my love of 44s comes from.Always liked the S infact I think all models of 44 are stunning looking cars. It's just that when I bought mine my S2 was the best one I saw in my price range.

Bluff called. S went out of production in 1988 (possibly '89), which is 22 years ago. Celebrated any significant birthdays recently, Colin? [;)] Oli.

wish I'd kept mine to test that theory with you [:)]

Back to thread title for a mo, now I Got my baby - now going to sell her!! http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2550983.htm Part of me thinks I'm going mad as this really is a nice example but ever since I bought her, I've still been hankering for a square dash 944. The S2, as nice as it is - is too nice! I need something a little older and a little more 'raw' So, it's up for grabs, I'll see what interest I get and go from there Andy
