GTS 4.0

Yes thanks, got that from OPC.

Still very tempted as the deposit is refundable until build spec fixed and it goes to build.

I have to sit down with my OPC but on the configurator I can't see how to swap the Alcantara steering wheel for leather when you spec the GTS interior?

It’s very simple; just tick the box for “GT sports steering wheel“ under Interior. It’s a no cost option.

also, definitely go for standard 20mm drop

Thanks Jed - agree re the suspension drop and am going to see the OPC tomorrow so will discus the lights and other options. All quite exciting

Good luck with the OPC visit. I'd be very tempted to take whatever delivery date they quote you with a bucketful of salt. I was advised my delivery would be Dec. 21 or Jan. 22. and so far not even a built slot. I know of others in a worse situation. Dealers have no control over their allocations at all, that's all controlled by Porsche at Reading, in a manor that, despite a lot of digging, they are unwilling to share. There is some belief that the Porsche owned sites, Mayfair, Reading and I think Guildford, get some preferential treatment, and that's not too hard to believe!

I'd be very tempted in your position to phone around as many OPCs as you can and ask where you would be on the 4.0L order list. If you are number 19 for instance I would suggest your chance of actually getting one before run out are non existent. I have heard that some dealers are in fact no longer taking orders. I'd have no loyalty to my local OPC because, despite what we all hope otherwise, they will have no loyalty to you.

I would agree with this.

For a couple of reasons, I am quite close to people inside my OPC and would be 10th in line. They are saying late 2024 at the earliest.

Nice. I'd be tempted to go with the standard GTS suspension drop of 20mm rather than going back to the 10mm. I've got the 20mm on my GTS and have had the 10mm on a prior 718, and am very happy with the standard GTS configuration.

As we all know its about individual preferences but having had both I would always definitely go for the 10mm drop ....

Out of the 2 I'd go for the first one with GTS interior. Consider adding the smokers pack as it gets rid of the cubby and gives you an extra 12v outlet.

Personally I find the ride much nicer with the 20mm drop on the GTS than with my previous Base with the 10mm drop. If you can, drive both and see what you think. I have no issues with clearance but I do take care over speed bumps.

Visited today and deposit paid.

Like a kid in a sweetshop I changed my mind on the spec completely but I’ve got plenty of time before it’s time to lock it in !

Interesting, did you change the spec or was it on advice of the OPC?

What have you gone for?

Did they say you will get an invite to a Porsche Silverstone experience day, mine has said it's part of the new car package.

[/quote] How do you get the red sport chrono clock in Carmine red?

when I say changed the spec, it was the colour - shark blue looks amazing so that’s what I went for along with a few other bits.

I’ll post the code in the week but it wasn‘t the rep but a combination of the Mrs loving the blue, me licing it a lot too and then seeing a 911, a targa and a 911 GTS in the same blue that persuaded me. it’ll be an age till I get to lock it in but very happy :)

and yes - invite to Silverstone mentioned……

Ooooooo....Shark Blue🤔You could pick up one now at Portsmouth with every extra specced.

Interesting you were so impressed with SB, maybe have to go and have a look at the Portsmouth one. Bournemouth have a GTS Cayman in SB, so will give me an indication.

The one in Portsmouth seems to have gone from the website when I checked last night.

The demonstrator at the OPC Ive ordered from is a SB Cayman GTS that sealed it for me

Yes, I have been discussing the Portsmouth one with the salesman that sold me my Macan GTS, I had arranged to go and see it, so must have had a deposit paid on it late yesterday.

Not surprising I have not seen another so well specced, it apparently was their demo car.

What timeframe did they give you as an estimated delivery?

Thanks, also struggling to spec red sports Chrono clock with the GTS pack?

Based on previous comments on here I asked a lot of questions about delivery and with usual caveats, they told me Q1 2024. I got the rep to speak to the sales manager as well.

I also spoke to Porsche East London on Friday and they gave me the same info.

I placed my deposit with my eyes wide open and my fingers crossed.

I already have a 981 GTS so not hugely bothered having to wait and will continue to enjoy it.

Of course, if the right spec 4ltr comes up on the approved list at some point next year, I may consider that instead.

Hopefully another year down the line these log jams in the supply chains will have eased amd things will start to improve…..

And items such as LED lighting and Bose may well be available again by then🤞

I don’t think you can do that. Personally I don’t like the GTS pack, even though my current car has it, because I’d prefer the dials the be black and I don’t like carbon. Personal choices I know.

Looking at your two specs posted earlier, I would say don’t go for the -10mm. Get the full benefit of the the GTS chassis. don’t bother with Power Steering Plus. My first GTS4.0 car had PSP, as I was led to believe it subtly improved high speed steering feel. that might have been the case in the past but I don’t think that is true now. My present car, which I didn’t spec myself, does not have PSP and if anything the steering feel is better in this car. Manoeuvring is no problem, but even if it were PSP can be easily added later as it is only software. Standard cruise is more than enough for me, but your needs might vary. I don’t drive much on motorways if I can help it.

My first car had full leather interior because I didn’t like alcantara, so I added seat ventilation. ti be fair this didn’t work all that well. The current car came with Race-tex and this was quite comfortable even in 35°.

I‘m still in two minds about the Race-tex wheel. It’s great when wearing gloves, which is necessary top down in cooler weather, as there is no heating. I wish you could get heating on the standard steering wheel as I much prefer the wheel without the controls on it. Its much easier to use the stick on the right to control the multi-function display than the horrid little wheel on the steering wheel.

Choices eh?
