Husborne Crawley

Blinkin' Southerners.

They have an auto jumble up here in the North also. It's called Middlesbrough, and is great if you don't like VIN numbers.

I bought a pair of radios yesterday - the Uniden ones Argos do for £60 as I found on line they were £45.[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]They seem pretty good and I'll be bringing one of them with me on 5(00). I'll have it on before 8:30 and until we meet for lunch if neccesary.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Hope you all have a good day. I'll be thinking of you.

If you find anything that might interest me don't forget to phone.

Pictures are now uploaded http://www.cannell.co.uk/Husborne%201005.htm[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]For those that didn't go this year, neither did many others ! Is it me, or is HC becoming rapidly smaller ? Very limited traders this year (neither Simon had a stand). [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]More rust than shine on show[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Rick.

Great pictures again Rick particularly like the elongated shot of Fen's front end. HC did look very empty, I didn't go as most of the items I want will have to be bought new & at the spring event 944 pickings were very rare. Maybe we should get a stall together, I'm sure we all have bits stashed in the garage that could be offered for sale.

I have more 944 bits stashed in my garage than there were at HC. It was good if you wanted to buy a rusty, dented, early 911 front wing though.

Didn't you get a pic of the taste-bypass yellow TT Rick?

for the record. Johnny McGirl organises a PCGB stand at every show and just asks for a small donation towards the costs. i would love to have seen some 944 bits there but appart from the odd steering wheel didn't really see any. i've snapped the plastic rectangle retaining thingy (girlie technical term..sorry) for the gear stick's leather gaitor and was hoping to find a replacement. Let's just say I'm glad I didn't have lunch before he pulled in to pick up his bits...

You missed us standing around giggling at it and pointing [:D]

I think we were discrete though [;)]

I didn't buy anything either, it did seem very spartan. Nice to meet you all and talk cars for a few hours - brum brum

I think we need a means of identifying 944 owners. I saw Rick and Fens cars but not the owners as I don't know what you look like.

I approached a few chaps early on and asked if they knew me from an internet chat room and you can imagine the strange looks I got.

I had to keep me head down a bit after that.....

I'm always mindful that people who may not have been to many events won't know each other and that its very easy for the regulars to get cliquey.

That's why I set up the link to the Titanic Diary for people to post their mobiles, encouraged people to bring a two way radio set to channel 5 and also said we'd be in the Rose and Crown for lunch at 12 noon.

If I had found a 2.7 head I would have been easily identifiable skipping round the field with it strapped to my head in glee [:D]

I've still got my old PCGB Forum badge around somewhere...
A quid from H. Goff [:)]

never really worked did it, although i did sell over 200 (half the money went to charity) still think the idea was a good one though. an improvement would be a PCGB members Name badge.
<blue peter cheap fix>
stick a safety pin to the back of your membership card and wear that at events [:-]

Hmmm.. Not sure if I would approach anyone with half an engine strapped to their head. :p

Good way to recycle last years plastic Helen

Ahhh....
I was wondering why Club Office had sent me 2 sets of cards this year - I'm obviously supposed to wear one [:D]

Did one of them have my name on? I didn't get any at all; I need to check if they took payment as I may not be a member.
