Nice and easy pace should suit Nicola[:D], plus I will have to take it easy for the first 500 miles[:)][:)][:)]
What sort of time would you be thinking of meeting around Chester. We could meet at the Romper about 45 mins before - or even at Roy's house for Bacon butties[8D]
Graham

JUst because I can't keep up with you..........[;)]

Yeah, lets twist Roys arm for bacon butties.
The ones he cooked at Eynsham were great!

9am start at Chester?
Stop for photos up Bets-Y-Coed (so any stragglers/those come from the east/west/south can meet us there).

So that's:

graham
nicola
Black80XSA?

Any more for any more?
I'll work on the route this w/end.
Nicola, I'd like to get the next meeting, at least just to say hello, but it's a b***er to get to Wilmslow after work from Wigan. []

Sunday! 9.00am Does that time really exist[&:] Okay Nicola we'll talk at the Club Meeting. Wether or not my passenger seat will be occupied is another matter, Hazel doesn't do Sunday mornings[]
What about Stuart, Christopher, and the other 'active' members? Some arm twisting perhaps on the 9th?
Graham

Details going in PP and I'm sure we'll drum up some support at the next meeting.

9am in Chester, my my that will be an early start![&:]

So working backwards
Chester 9.00am, Romper 8.15, Home 8.05, Breakfast 7.55, Shower 7.40, Out of bed 7.39. Wake up 7.38
Not too bad after all[&:] We'll see!
Graham

As much as I would like all of you to come to my house and impress my neighbours with the fleet of Porsche's I'm not to sure the bacon butties are a good idea. 1 some of you manqunicans need to watch your waiste line and 2. If Cheryl starts cooking it could be lunchtime before we get away. What about meeting at the services in Hapsford (junciton 14) then going onto meet all the others in Chester?

[:D][:D] I'm sure Cheryl would be mighty impressed with the thought of making Bacon Butties at 8.15 am NOT!![&:]
OKAY J14 it is then.
Graham

Graham,
I nipped in to Stratstone's yesterday.(I wanted to stay at home and tidy the garden shed, but she had set her heart on an afternoon visiting car showrooms[:D])
Any way, back to the point, in the show room is a demonstrator, a 997"s" in Blue, looks fantastic!.
Is this similar spec to your new arrival?

John

If you click HERE and fill out the form, you can get FREE entry.

So 9am at Chester then picking up others on the way?

Yes John - it is same colour colour but I've gone for the Classic wheel - 5 spokes, rather than the fussy multi-spoke design - similar to my BMW's which are a pain in the butt to clean. Can't remember the full spec on their car - mines black interior etc. Not too long now - just 4 weeks![:)]
Graham

Hi all,
A southern interloper here from Telford. I am interested in tagging along for your jolly to Portmeirion on March 6th. Please send on some more details, I could probably make the meeting point at the services J14 M56 @ 9am unless your route comes closer.
Regards
Graeme

Hi all
I will put tothether a tentative/schedule route and post it this w/end to see what everyone thinks, please let me know what the best meeting point is, J14 M56 is good for me and handy for anyone coming from North or East, other suggestions welcome. I think a stop/catch up point on Bets-Y-Coed (suggestions on this meeting point welcome!) would be a good a idea then on to Portmerion. I have some good tips on roads back up to Caernarfon as well, so as long as the weather isn't like today (when I might just be forced to come in the Cooper S [8|]), should be good fun. I just got my silver on black plates, so with an oil top up the T should be good to go! Nicola I don't know if you had a further show of hands at the meeting but so far sounds like 9 cars? If it gets more do we have to tell anyone as it's then event or something? (I know the mini club did but that was 177 cars). I am happy to do route for everyone on the day, is there anything else we need to do?[&:]

So far then:

Me

ps/ I am away on hols 15-22nd so we should try get this all firmed up over this w/end.

OK then, this is what I've come up with:

Meeting Point J14 M56 Westbound for 9.30am depart:
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=345000.02651507&Y=370000.100453719&width=500&height=300&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&out.x=9&out.y=12&scale=100000

From reading the posts it seems members from the East want to arrange to meet up on the M56 nr Manchester Airport at the Posthouse maybe, could those planning on doing this please confirm and post a time (giving you enough time to be at J14 M56 before 9.30 for departure). So for those having to make do with 997's that should be about 9.25 [;)].

Nicola handily noticed that Portmerion entry is free till 31st March but you have to print out the form from the website:
http://www.portmeirion-village.com/en/form-winter-visits.php?sM_id=18&ssM_id=79
BUT I can print some extra ones and bring them along on the day.

Just had my 'analog' map out after realising that trying to map this using on the T'internet is impossible. I was thinking something along the lines of:

A494 until it meats the A5 then West to Bets_Y_Coed. Stop there for pics and wait for stragglers (me probably, only 125bhp remember [:)]).
A470 south A487 west to Portmerion. 1 to 1 1/2 hour stop here for food, walk around etc.
A498 north to A4085 north to Caernarfon.
Then we have a few choices:
A: Quickest/boringest is get on the A55 Conway > Abergele > St Asaph back to M56.
B: OR From Carenarfon A4086 back up Bets_Y-Coed (this is meant to be a great road, recently re-tarmacced) perhaps across the A494 onto the A5 near Chirk then North A483, around Wrexham > A55 > M56.
There is a C which would take is A470 North from Bets_Y-Coed branch off on the A548 > A544 > A543 to Denbigh A525 to the A55. BUT this might take too long and I guess we want to be back (or least out Wales, no offense meant Wales) by dark.

You can see most of the area I am talking about on this map:
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=300000&Y=350000&width=700&height=400&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&scale=500000&left.x=8&left.y=143

HOWEVER please feel free to get your map out and make any suggestions - especially if you have experience with these roads - so we can get this all set in stone ASAP. I am working on some times at the moment.

And...
DISCLAIMER IMPORTANT PLEASE READ HERE: I am not a veteran Porsche Run Organiser, in fact I have never even been on such a thing [8|], however I do want to get the car out in the company of others. I am happy to drum up enthusuasm/plan out a route/make maps & info for everyone on the day/etc as best as I can - but am relying on the rest of you to make this work!

Roll on March!
