Suggestion - at Ruthin head north again on the A525 to Denbigh, and then pick up the A543 to Pentrefoelas (where you join the A5 for Betws). This is an excellent piece of road, the latter half being part of the infamous EVO magazine test route. For those that want to exercise their right foot, its thrilling; for those that want to tootle the scenary is just as thrilling []

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm just trying to work all this into to route while keep it roughly circular and so we're not repeating too many roads there and back. I am sure we can pick you up where you suggest.
Looks Good to me Alan, it seems there may be two cars coming up from this area ( I may even drum up a third) & the 9.30 start suits us.
Sure thing Graeme, the more the merrier[]
Ideally I would like to go out to do the run before March 6th but with being away next week it's looking unlikley - does anyone who lives nearer fancy giving it a blast so we can get some rough times? If I get back in time tonight I'll try to post the proposed route with marked map.

I live 10mins from meeting point (5min on a Sunday morning)
My biker mates have stopped using these roads on Sundays (the last straw, ÂŁ80 fine for number plate 20mm too small)
The Police will be out in force (the only force to make a profit!!!!) with mobile speed traps, unmarked cars and helicopters.
They are looking for bikes but would be pleased to see a few of you lot coming over the hill in convoy doing 5 mph over the limit.

lookign like i might have to be in work on Sunday.
If not then best place for me to meet up is the shell station on the A494 just as you approach New Brighton / Mold. I'll let you know if i can't make it later in the week.

If we manage to leave Chester services by 9.30 should be there for 11.00.
For all the Manchester based crew suggest we arrive at The Romper 8.30 ish and leave 8.40. Clocked it last week and during weekday morning traffic, took 20 mins to Junction 14.
For those who don't know - The Romper is off the M56 junction 6, head towards Wilmslow (A538) the pub is 200 metres on the left hand side.
For those who are planning to meet here, please either post or PM me.
Thanks
Graham

You'll go through a set of traffic lights in a dip (Tavern pub on right), then the Shell garage is on the next roundabout.
I reckon it'll take you about 20 minutes from the Chester service, so i'll see you around 09:50 hrs.
I will only be doing part of the run, once we get to Cerrigydrudion I'm heading off right for a few laps of the EVO triangle and then home over the Denbigh moors (Mother's Day duties from noon onwards [] )

Some notes I just came up with, if someone can just follow the directions with a map to check for any mistakes that would be appreciated. Forecast is cold but sunny! I have now posted a larger version of the route map:

Also, here are a few notes and written directions. I will bring extras along on the day as well as the Portmeirion free entry forms, which you can print out.

Please drive carefully and take into account the possibly/probable inclement weather conditions. Stick to the laws of the road. Police will look out for a number of Porsche together and joyfully pounce on illegal driving.
Remember this event social a gathering, it is meant to be a day of fun "" not competition or challenge. If you really want to test the performance of your Porsche you should attend a Track Day type event. Always remember you are at a group event, show respect and care for your fellow club members. I am sure we have all seen fair share of w*ankers in Porsches driving badly - please be courteous to other motorists/pedestrian/horses/etc and represent the club & marque in a positive light!
