Hi Guys,

I started a new thread for anyone interested in the Jager 944 LED Dash Kit Group Buy (http://www.jageng.com/garage9/product_info.php?cPath=49_55&products_id=151&osCsid=39643c7835e1d8d5b804c07365ee2a50).

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]This kit replaces the optical lens and incandescent lamps with three LED wedges resulting a brightly and evenly lit gauge cluster. The LEDs have a super long life, are high output and producer low heat.

Due to the huge difference between your very dim stock incandescent and the much brighter LED bulbs, you may notice a small amount of reflection in the windshield.

  9. MRGT (white)

  • sc0tty (white)
  • ocallen (blue)
  • Copperman05 (white)
The price is $91.25 (USD) and for 7 orders we get $10 flat rate shipping, more than 7 orders Jager will ship them free of charge.

Conversion to £ and possible duty at 10%, VAT at 15% = £69.84 (1 GBP = 1.63319 USD)

I can then dispatch them to you Special Delivery which should be £6.70.

Group Buy Plan
  1. 100% payment up front is preferred via paypal.
  2. I suggest we set the cut off date for orders at the end of the week Saturday 25th July?
  3. Payment cut off date will be the following week Saturday 1st August.
  4. I will then check payments have been received and chase those who haven't payed/cancel people who haven't payed.
  5. I will contact Jager with the order and pay via card.
  6. Once the order has been received I will work out the duty/VAT cost and you can choose to collect the item or have it posted to you via Special Delivery.
Does that sound like a good plan? If so I will PM all the buyers with my contact details (address and phone number) and paypal address.

NOTE: Right just checked paypal website, when you select "Send Money" you need to change the payment type to "Personal" and select a suitable category such as Gift. If you pay using paypal balance or bank transfer then the payment is free for the payer and receiver. Credit cards incur a fee but this can be payed by the sender. I will check the payments when received and add any charges on to the duty/VAT.

Regards

Add me. Do we have a ballpark figure? At $90 plus shipping, what import duties are added, and post at this end I'm guessing still under £100?

Current price on Jager website is $91.25 + $64.95 shipping.

Conversion to £ and possible duty at 15% (not sure if this is how its done? maybe someone can point out if its wrong) = £110.70 (1 GBP = 1.63319 USD)

So if we can ship them all in one parcel and spread the cost it would work out as:

8 x $91.25 = $730 + $64.95 (shipping) = $794.95

$794.95 = £486.75 + 15% (duty) = £559.76 / 8 = £69.97 (saving £40.73!)

If we dispatched them individually this end it would only cost around £6 for special delivery taking it up to about £75.

Hopefully Veronique might make it even cheaper ;)

Put me down please Dave, not sure of the colour yet and the link doesn't seem to be working at the minute.

Cheers

Def interested Jager site appears to have crashed at the moment, so not certain of colour etc.

Cheers

Well done. If the total price comes out at £70 ish (give or take a tenner or so) then i'm definitely in. If we're getting upto and over the £100 mark i might be put off slightly (one or two other purchases in the pipeline).

For the rate of duty youll have to refer to the tarif, or speak to C&E, but itll be cost of goods plus cost of shipping the the UK, on which duty is charged (likely 5%-10%). VAT at the current rate will then be added to give you the total.

Fantastic work ! I'll have white, please. Is anyone up for a grop fitting session in the north west ? I feel the need to show my new (£2k - ouch !) hood off ?

Rch

Hey guys,

Just had a response from veronique, for 7 orders they will ship for $10, more than 7 orders and shipping at no cost :)

I have added some pictures from the Jager website above, also amended my calculation for worst case scenario e.g. 10% duty plus 15% VAT.

I haven't done a group buy before so any ideas on how to handle the orders and payments greatly received, was thinking maybe escrow or similar?

Also what date shall we set as a cut off of confirmed orders?

Cheers

Dave K.

Dave,

It might be worth talking to Veronique about how to run the group buy as i'm sure they've done it before. Maybe it might be better that we all pay you for the product and shipping in advance, you place all the orders (providing addresses and kit colour) so Jager get all the orders and payment in one go and then maybe Veronique can ship to us individually - that way the import duty and VAT will be charged direct to everyone upon delivery so you don't have to bother trying to organise the unknown charge tax charges.

Would someone mind putting up a picture of the stock dash as mine looks suspiciously like the red Jager kit already???

Stock dash is at best imperceptibly lit, usually no lights at all. Should be white, so red sounds wrong.

Hi Scott,

I've emailed Veronique to see if they can ship individually but imagine that the saving will be made on shipping them in one box? Maybe if I pay for and order them and once received work out the individual cost after duty and VAT you can then pay me and collect or have it posted to you?

Dave
