Hi O'Callen,

I haven't received a payment from you and the order was sent on saturday, I suggest you check which email address you sent the paypal payment to and cancel it.

Unfortunately I somehow missed this, but like the look of the blue kit. Maybe one of you could take some pics once fitted and post them up here along with any interesting fitting stories as I'm still tempted to buy one.

Hey all,

The kits shipped on the weekend via Canada Post, status is showing as "Item has been sent to customs in the destination country"..... sooooo fingers crossed everyone [;)][;)]

Cheers

Hey all,

Parcel is currently being held to ransom at my local Parcel Force depot, good news is there is not duty to pay only VAT @ £29.05 !! :) (& handling charge of £13.50).

I will see if I can negotiate with Parcel Force to drop the handling fee of £13.50 as I am going to collect the parcel so its not as if they are going to have to deliver it... thieving *****.

I will work out what costs are and email you all individually to arrange final paypal payments and postage details.

NO CHANCE ! Thats their fee for assessing the package for the revenue men and making the payment on your behalf.

Cheers Nick :)

Veronique has asked me to tell you all to be extra careful when fitting as the LED's are sensitive to static.

Hi David ,

Thanks again

Well I have just tackled the installation of the blue kit.

I wish I had'nt. There are some of us who are good at such stuff and some of us who arent. Im one of the ones who isnt unfortunately.

Its all working but it was a complete bugger of a job for me. It took me ages to squeeze the dial housing out of the dash (and even longer to get it back in [])

I have managed to dent my dashboard in a few places getting the thing back in (which im gutted about as im anal as heck with suchlike) . It was horrendous but im sure those of you with a bit of skill will manage it ok.

I also made the mistake of taking the dial housing apart so i could give the dials themselves a quick wipe to remove some dust. As I was doing this it slipped and the cloth snagged on two of the dial needles bending them. Unfortunately they are thin metal not plastic and they wont go straight again. Im absolutely devastated. I feel almost as bad as when i wrote off my first car.

Does anyone know if you can buy the stock orange needles seperately???

Also I would like to offer a word of warning to any of you guys who are installing such a thing for the first time. The instructions give some specific advice which was simply wrong for my car. With regards to the 3 bulb housings which you have to rotate to lock into place, it tells you that the right hand side one (as you look at the rear of the unit) needs to rotate the other way to the other two so that the white striped wire site at the TOP rather than the BOTTOM. I did as per the instructions but after doing so i noticed the bulb in question did not work!

I tried it the same way round as the other two (ie so that the positive white wires were all towards the bottom) and they ALL work. My car is an '86 lux. Im not sure if mine is wired differently to the rest of you guys but the instructions were not correct for my 944.

Just figured I would mention this so that you will know the reason why only 2 bulbs may work when you install them.

Hope you all make a better job of it than me.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that, you did take the steering wheel off first didn't you?? The instrument pod should come out no problem.

Got my white kit through the post today, thanks again David excellent service.
Had a quick look at it and the instructions, not in any great hurry to fit it at the moment but couldn't help noticing that they list the 944 as 1984-1988!! My S2 is a 1991, is there any difference with these models, did something change after 1988??
I'm not aware of any changes is anyone else. Thought I would ask before I strip it down and find it doesn't fit [&:]

Cheers
