Sunday 17th May

Update;
You may have read in this month Porsche Post that pre-booking for this event is now being done by calling club office on 01608 652911
This will give you access to the off road experience (most excellent) and tickets at £9 per person
.

A return to Gaydon Heritage Centre for the clubs modern car day with the 996, Boxster, Cayman Cayenne and CGT Registers
Hopefully better weather this year and at least certainly more notification of the date!!

Once again for the small sum of £9 per person (below standard cost to the museum alone) members will gain entrance to the stunning and newly refurbished Gaydon British motoring Heritage museum.
On site as in previous years the chance to go in the stunning Cayenne as it struts its stuff over the Land Rover off road course - but only for those who pre-book
Also your chance to have a go at the driving skills test...

There is a planned black and blue display for the registers along with a chronological display ( thats mean the newest cars to the right...[;)])

In addition there has been talk of a inter Register concours, so knock yourselves out with that one guys [&:].. because;

As the 997 register we are planning in our usual style to drive our cars on the superb roads surrounding Gaydon.
Some short routes of differing types of roads which all offer something for the Porsche driver and passenger, for those whom have been on our Cotswolds tours then you may know some of the roads. Having done the route its a great mixture of what we love to drive with some wide fast flowing roads along with some scenic lanes, we even have a duck pond [:D]
Tulip maps will be provided but you will still be escorted on the route. Its only an hour of driving and 50 miles distance

In order to allow you to have plenty of time to look around the museum and take part in the varied activities on offer, the lunch run at will depart 1.00pm..
Lunch is 20 minutes from Gaydon
They have various snack available or the 3 course carvery option at £14.50pp

We hope that the central location of Gaydon will help your Register have one of the largest turnout, even if we're not the largest register there... [:D]

Lunch run needs to be pre booked, as I need to confirm bums on seats with the lunch venue;

Hi Gary, could you add Jean and myself, to the drive and Gaydon line up (now that we have something with 997 in the title again).

Hi Gary, to be honest its been tucked up for over a week as I was away in Wales and needed a 4x4 in Pembroke. This weekend just felt like catching up on indoor jobs what with the rain and overnight snow so hoping for a milder period over the holiday.
Do you have yours back yet?

Paul

Nice one Jan...[:D]

Paul, mine is back tomorrow.
Like yourself I haven't missed it for the last couple of weeks due to work and weather...mainly work though

Maybe like cost etc....[&:]

Sorry gary but now unable to do this day as John had a bit of a mishap at Oulton 2 weeks ago, and we have no Porsche any more........am absolutely gutted, but at least he wasn't injured and the doors opened properly, impressive really the main passeneger compartment was intact.

[:(][:(] Gutted to hear this Jan!!

However I'm pleased to hear that John's OK and the car did its job in protecting him.
I'll have to meet up to find out the story

Derek, good news, I've been looking forward to seeing the colour in the flesh (of your car that is [;)])

Prices we're announced in the March's Porsche Post, they are £9 per person.. I'll be honest and say I think its a little higher than I was expecting...[&:]
Not sure when the forms will be available to get the advanced tickets( so you can go off roading FOC) so do keep your eyes peeled.

Hopefully we can get a good display and turnup of cars and people, we are hopingt o have a few surprises on the day- well it will be to me thats for sure [;)]

Gary
That price includes entry to the museum and guess what that costs.... yes.. £9 per person.

A few more details here http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=437390

But keep an eye out for the booking form in next months Porsche Post.
Myself and Rob are pre-running the route tomorrow (Saturday) if you want to join us then just text/PM me.

The lunch spaces will need to be prior booked with ourselves at 997 not with the club.
It will probably be a carvery plus a optional menu (depends on how good it is tomorrow [;)])
