Prices we're announced in the March's Porsche Post, they are £9 per person.. I'll be honest and say I think its a little higher than I was expecting...[&:]

Gary - I assume that the £9 is if you want to go into the museum and not just for entering at the gates of the premises (ie. car park)? I am thinking in terms of those of us just doing the drive...

Alex, I hear you thinking [;)]
However the £9 is to attend the Porsche club event of which the 997 drive is part of the attractions (for the 997 crowd) is the way I am led to read it.
As you know we (997 register) have never charged to attend an event unless there has been an entrance fee or cost involved.

Its really not my call and I'm not 100% sure but I will ask for clarification, however the Cayenne off road experience is certainly worth a few pounds of anyones money..

all updated...

Congratulations on the new purchase Jan, just don't let John near it though.....[;)]
I look forward to hearing the full story [:)]

Thinking of popping in to see Chris at Center Gravity before or after the drive as I want to clean off all the winter salt etc from under my car and then apply protective coating. He can do all this at his shop, one of the few places in the country that will do it right with the right protective stuff.

Maybe May is a little too long to wait though.

Alex, I thought the underside of our cars were mainly plastic coverings ?
Interested to know what the protection is and does...

Coverings go up to rear axel. Engine etc is exposed after that to allow heat dissipation.

Engine/exhaust etc need cleaning/protecting after each winter. Can remember what product Chris said he used.

Update;
You may have read in this month Porsche Post that pre-booking for this event is now being done by calling club office on 01608 652911
This will give you access to the off road experience (most excellent) and tickets at £9 per person.

You can however pay on the day at a £2 premium but this will not give you access to the off road experience.

If you are interested in displaying within the black and blue display, please do contact/email Rob 997@porscheclubgb.com

Hi Gary, could you please put Pam and I down for the drive and the lunch, please? Thanks very much and all the best, John

Gary

Please would you add my wife (Kathy) and I to the list for the drive and the lunch.

Thanks

Terry

Well only a few weeks away, hopefully everyone has applied for their tickets from the club HQ - this gives you the off road experience too, which is well worth it.

As you may be aware we have been asked to do a display of black and blue cars, so watch out for us as we try to slot you into the correct order on the day.
We had plenty of black cars on the Breakfast club run [:)]

Gary

Now the Club has cancelled the drive in the morning to keep more people at the show, I am not sure it's worth a trip up for just the hour drive in the afternoon [:-]

The Mrs certainly won't want to come up for just lunch, then an hour drive, and then back home again. As such I think I might take my name off the list. Such a shame as I was massively looking forward to this drive
[:(]

OR - I could do my own morning run from old routes (and anyone that wants to join me) [:D][:D] Hmmmm....

Alex, I fully understand your reasonings but I see it as a chance for us all to get together over a coffee with plenty of time to chat and discuss things in the morning of the event.
The club do wish to maintain a display for as long as possible to attract more people, the more the merrier as they say. [:)]
Do please let me know either way though [;)]
