New Boxster

Think it's just the tag at the front that let you down - it needs to say "image" but in square brackets not quotes.

What a beautiful looking car - the red roof really suits it.

Thanks Rob, I have mastered it now it seems.

Yes indeed a lovely car and the RED is different i like it instead of the normal Black Is it the 2.7 as the front grills are colour matching the body .Is it PDK or manual .

No problem. Am sure you'll enjoy it in the Cotswolds - don't forget PCGB headquarters are at Moreton-in-Marsh (it's got to be worth a free cup of tea if you turn up in that!) and there are some lovely driving roads around there.

Hi Brian,

Its the 2.7 and manual version, it was a toss up over the PDK, our last Audi TT had the double clutch box and my wife couldn't get used to it so we have gone back to a manual, happy for now as the manual is very involving and the gearbox and clutch operation sweet.

Strike a light Tim. Could have been embarrasing if there were two 981's in the Slaughters at the same time, people might think they're common. A near miss, we hope to stay there weekend of the 6th. Car looks great and don't be tempted to go through the ford across the River Eye at Upper S.! Have a great weekend and if you want a decent walk by the river can recommend the footpath behind Lord's of the Manor down to Lower S. and coffee/shortbread at Washbourne Court ready for walk back up the lane. Takes some beating!

Thats the weekend we will be there - 5-7th April staying in Lower Slaughter.

Its our first Porsche after owing a couple of Audi TT's, the new shape and improvements to the interior etc just sold us over that we had to make the change.

Welcome and it's a great looking car with the red interior and roof. I do like the more daring colour combinations.

It's interesting and pleasing to hear that the new Porsche interior is having a positive influence on those who have previously found it not to their tastes and shopped elsewhere. I think the 981 is going to be very successful in the wider market.

I'd love to see a shot of that red interior[:)]

Hi, nice looking car.
Did you buy it from Newcastle?
As I saw similar Boxster in the back when I was having a quick look about at their cars.

How do you find it compared to the TTRS?
I am also moving from TTRS, having had both coupe and roadster and have gone for a 2.7 Cayman.

If you look on used car locator and I think it should still be there, Newcastle has a GT silver Boxster with red roof and interior for sale as ex demo car. Pictures are not that flattering as colour looks much better in the flesh so to speak

Had another look myself and see car has gone, it was an exceeding well specified car with every option on it and was priced at £49,995 so a bargain against brand new car.

Having seen it on website was not sure how it would look but once viewed it was nice looking car and as said it was a striking comination that looks good and would have gone for it myself but after driving it with roof down on a rare sunny day in the NE stuck to descion to get a coupe so a Cayman it is.

Yes it was bought from Newcastle Porsche Centre, they also had an ex demo in Silver for sale that had a lot of extras, they had it in when we ordered ours back in November.
The TTRS is a different animal blisteringly fast particularly with the Stronic box we had on ours, but we are not into outright power now and you can't really legally exploit it in this country. We loved the shape of the new TT's and had one of the first ones round here when the new shape model came out back in 2007 when we bought the 3.2, now they have become just so popular they are everywhere, they have really sold well for Audi.
We just love the shape of the new Boxster, the cabin and build quality, so having had two TT's, one the top of the range RS, there was nowhere to go further with that model, and having never had a convertible it was a no brainer.

Nice[:)] Silver roll over hoops and seat backs works well.

Sorry, I now have another question[X(]. What is standard on the 981? Hard back or upholstered backed seats. Or is that dependent on different models of seat? I much prefer yours but there's one at PC Exeter in silver with full red leather interior and the seat backs are leather BUT the backs of the seats are a different shape as there's no 'shell structure' visible.

Hello, ours has the optional Sports Seats Plus and according to the specification it says "The optional sports seats Plus are upholstered in smooth-finish leather. The side bolsters of the seat squab and backrest are more prominently defined and have a firmer, more sporting padding for even better lateral support. The backrest shell up to the headrest has a Silver Grey Metallic paint finish."

If you are talking about the clam shell not lining up, there are plastic ramps underneath that stop the shell in the correct position, I would suspect you have lost or moved your one on that side, take a look at the other side and hopefully it will become clear. Nothing to do with the roof.

Thanks for the quick response, I will have my car up on axle stands at the weekend to investigate the rattle. I have a feeling the cat is breaking down but I will get a better insight at the weekend.

Thanks again for the guidance on the roof, will look at that also.
