New members welcome and photos

Hi everyone, thought I would post a couple of pics of my curent 997.1 3.8 carrera S 2008 model. She has some good extras including sports Chrono plus, PSE, sports seats, bose, heated seats, Park Assist, and 19" Carrera Sport wheels. Just go to try and keep it clean now, the one problem with black cars.

I think a few of the later gen 1 cars seem to have these wheels.

Must say I do like your wheels, did you have them done with the white inserts?

Hi. I thought I would introduce myself as I have now officially joined the fold! I am the proud recent owner of a 2008 911 carrera cabriolet. Basalt Black, manual, Nav, Bose, heated seats and thats about it ! I really wanted the 3.6 in a manual configuration, lots of subjective reasons that I won't bore you with suffice to say I hope to keep this car forever. To me this car is absolutely perfect. The power delivery, the sound, the gearbox, the 'feel' on the road all add up to a truly awesome real world sports car and I am head over heels in love. I have been a complete lost case car addict since I was old enough to spell C A R, FYI my first word was 'car'. This is my 5th Porsche, 2 previous cayennes and one boxster S and one 996 Turbo preceding it over the last 10 years. the garage at present comprises of the 911, a 2016 audi Q7 (my work car) , a 2009 BMW X5, (my wife's car) and a 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago.....dont ask......suffice to say it is one of only a smattering of RHD manual cars left in existence and should continue to appreciate in value at a better rate than my house ! I hope to attend the surrey regional monthly get together next month at silvermere ( a fortuitous 5 mins from my home ) and am waiting with baited breath for the club membership pack to arrive in the post so I can map out more Porsche related fun with you good people over the coming year. Thanks for reading and look forward to seeing some of you in due course !

Nice selection of cars and welcome.

If patience was an option that box would never have been ticked on my birth order sheet. So, just 7 days after parting with my much loved 986 and with 3rd degree burns from the money in my pockets, I have bought my unicorn 997.

Many rules broken, bought unseen and undriven, but from an OPC on deposit, I now enter 4 more nights of torturous sleep before I see her and feel her. Actually, perhaps I have subconsciously had patience retrofitted, or maybe it's just because I have no option while she is logistically transplanted closer to me and prepared.

My teaser photo can only be a dealer supplied one, but she has all the kit I wanted and thought would never find. 2009 Carrera S coupe, PDK with sport chrono/plus, PSE, Bose, sports adaptive seats, Carrera S 2 alloys, dynamic lights, sports suspension and LSD

I can't wait......

So tomorrow then? Such a good car, nice spec it will be a joy to drive and I can tell you as a recent new entrant into the fold that the experience improves with time. 4 months on and I am smiling more than I was the day I collected it ;)
