New members welcome and photos

Hi, new member here browsing the site. Owned a Cayenne for couple of years but recently satisfied lifelong wish and added a 2006 997.1 C4S with factory aerokit.

It's cobolt blue with turbo alloys, extended leather, manual, 58k with full OPC service history. Purchased from Williams Crawford in Saltash, found them to be excellent to deal with, despite being couple of hundred miles away , delivered on everything discussed and really professiona,a d friendly.

Sorry, have tried repeatedly to upload photo but just won't accept it, so any suggestions welcome.

Hi Mike and welcome.

Most photographic uploads directly to this site fail because of file size. The forum won't accept image files larger than 1500 kB. So check file size in your file manager and use an image resizer programme to reduce it if necessary.

Alternatively, you can upload your photo to a third party hosting site such as Imgur or Flickr and simply copy the link. then paste it into your forum post.

There's quite a lot more detailed info on this here if you make a search for it.

Regards,

Hi Mike,

Clive's info is a little out of date. You can upload files up to 29999kb.

If you just want to upload one photo at a time, next to where it says "Quick Reply" you will see "Open Full Version" in brackets. Click on that. Then below the text box you will see an "Upload files to the server" box. Hit "select" and choose the photo file. Then once that's uploaded select "Submit post"

There are improvements to the forum software in the pipeline which will allow 'drag and drop', thankfully!

That's good to know. Alan. The upload box label is still showing 1500Kb. So we mere mortals tend to accept what we're told! [:D]

This method is less long winded, but using a link from a hosting site provides more flexibility.

Ah, right Alan. [;)]

It was this that was confusing me!

Hi all. Joined the site not long after I bought my first Porsche back in August. The car is a 2005 manual 997.1 C2S in Atlas Grey. Not covered many miles in it but have enjoyed it every time I’ve taken it out. I’ve wanted a 911 for years but never took the plunge, always talked myself out of it for one excuse or another but finally decided to bite the bullet and glad I did!

Lovely looking car - welcome to the club. Probably the most common thought amongst new owners - why didn't I do this years ago!

Thanks Chris for the kind compliment and welcome. Really happy with the car and always thinking about when I can next get out to drive it. It's the first time I've owned a 2nd car, so it's a nice feeling when you know you're only grabbing the keys for the sake of driving and not just commuting, general duties etc.

Looking forward to the better weather in a few months time but still taking it out in between the worst of the current weather to keep it ticking over. Also gives me another excuse to clean it!

Been looking for a little while but finally found the one for me, went up to South Wales to pick it up and after driving back to Devon I definitely made the right choice so here she is my 2007 997 Carrera 2
