Talk about a running report this thread has turned into. The 2nd biggest thread on the site right now!!

I am currently having a problem with the driver-side front tyre pressure. Ever since I changed to my HRE wheels the tyre is losing about 1psi every 40miles driven. I just did a 4hr drive and lost over 6psi in that one tyre. The others are all fine.

I have tried tightening the valve but that doesn't seem to have helped. I don't think I have an actual puncture as I think it's been doing that ever since I left the garage with the new wheels on.

I am going to drive back to the garage first thing next week, but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of causes or even fixes?

I am guessing that the two most likely causes are a faulty valve or the tyres not seated properly on the wheel"¦

Mis-seated tyre, leaking valve (base or core), tyre puncture or porous wheel! [:(]
Immersion in a tub of water (the wheel and tyre - not you ) [;)] should tell you which it is.
Regards,
Clive

Have to agree with all of the above about the pressure loss. I had this in March on another car, we took the tyre off and could not find a puncture, only when it went back on did the balance machine then register the rim was buckled ! Very expensive, but I don't think this will be your problem as it would have registered when they fitted your tyres.

How very frustrating for you, hope you get it sorted PDQ !

True, but sadly the information is being watered down with the after purchase chat ( of which I'm guilty of too.[:(])
When I can sort out how to split the thread, then please expect it to be done.

There's a wealth of information in this thread, be a shame to see it go to waste.

New to the forum. Was thinking of buying the Turbo but was recommended to go for the C4S which I did in June (Met. black / black leather 6sp-short shift) instead...  Now regret a bit the extra power and wondering if I should go for the Turbo, wait for the GT2 or stick with what I have... Was told the Turbo is a bit disapointing? any Turbo S version coming soon?

Any bright ideas as to how I can connet an mp3 player to the stereo? think it is more useful that installing thr CD changer.

Who ever told you a 997 Turbo is disappointing has a serious mental health issue!

If your C4S is under 20k miles you could also go for the powerkit upgrade. Taking your output from 355 to circa 381 BHP and pushing torque up to 307 lbft but through a wider range.

It doesn't sound much but knocks 1 second off the 0-100 time (Porsches offical figures are 9.8s 0-100 for C4S with half tank and driver), 1.6 seconds off the 0-124 mph (0-200kmh) range and similar gains through the rev range and in gear

Not a turbo but feels much quicker than the stock C4S - the actual set up feels faster than the figures suggest, key to this is a wall or torque from 3000rmp all the way around to a new 7450 rpm limit. You gets the sports exhaust as well to optimsie the aural pleasure.

You'd need to negotiate with your dealer but for probably under £10k its a significant upgrade (they change whole parts of the engine to get the output). Increaes your fun wile saving for the face lifted turbo in 09
