New Turbo: took the plunge!

Well done Alex have fun but be careful because they are quiet and very quick so can catch you out. You need to be very careful if using the sport button and accelerating hard in second and third as you will hit the rev limiter very quickly and in full overboost thats like hitting a brick wall (dont ask me how I know). Also you will find the car will grow on you especially when you get some long journeys behind you so dont judge her too quickly
Don't plan on using sport button for first 500 miles (especially in this crappy weather)
Was advised to not go over 4000rpm for first 500 miles then every 100 miles after that you can take it up by a 1000rpm.
It's not like you are missing much acceleration below 4000rpm anyway in a Turbo!!

congratulations Alex. Enjoy in good health and be sure to post your views on the beast; I'd be particularly interested in the extras you've gone for like the limited slip diff.
Not sure I am going to know much about the LSD before next spring when I get the beast on a track. Will certainly report on each and every goodie though.

Congrats Alex, the long wait finally over then ! Santa has come early for you ! Hope you've got the day off work, we're all dying to know how you get on later !
Cheers Robert. Yup, just so happen to have the next 5 days off. Coincidence?! []

No need for too much apprehension - the turbo's a pussy cat really. It's a mechanical thing ie. the big nut behind the wheel!
Alex - congrats. Have fun!! []
Regards,
Clive
PS. Wish I had one! []
The car is simply UNBELIEVABLE!!
Stunning outside looks, stunning inside looks, and totally spectacular drive (even keeping it under 4000 rpm!!).
Night and day between the new Turbo and my old C2S Cab. The Carrera just doesn't come anywhere close in any department.
This car is perfect for me. So much so that I am even thinking of not putting HRE wheels on or a Sports Exhaust. It's just perfect the way it is now.
Will report more in detail after the shock has dissipated a little. Sufficed to say though, I love each and every option I put on the car (for example I didn't realize the alu gearstick has 2 big slats all the way through the middle so you can see to the other side).
In the meantime, here are some initial pics (not too great as weather/light wasn't very good today).

Small thing..........that looks like a thick rim multi function steering wheel? Is that a TT option? I have the MFSW on my C2S but the rim is quite thin, about the only thing I don't like...........
........................mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..nice one.

On the PGB 'build your Porsche' the only MFSW listed is option 431, which has a normal thickness rim. Where did you pick the thicker version from? Any idea why I wasn't offered it?

It's an exclusive option. The site shows some exclusive options but nowhere near all.
Try the German Porsche site - that usually show more of them, albeit in German!
