Ooooo shiny....

That doesn't look like a K26/8, have I lost the plot and missed the fact you're going with a bigger Turbo? [&:]

or was it a bigger one after the Bob Watson work?

I'd like to point out I haven't typed an incorrect name in weeks

It's a Lindsey Super 75 #8 hotside dry turbo. I have a K26/8 with 3,500 miles on it since a rebuild if anyone wants it though.

Top marks to that man. From a V******l C***a I'm afraid, but it's apparently the donor all the Escort rally boys use. It's actually Mitsubishi gear anyway which makes me feel better, so long as I don't have to get it serviced every time I exhale like an Evo.

When you come to re-indexing your torsions,, How much are you dropping it by + how many splines either way are you doing.????

I don't know. The tech has the angle measuring tool to measure the wheel centre to torsion bar centre angle and we're looking to go beyond 968 CS measurements on that.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]From what I know the 968 CS had the same size bars as the 250 Turbo (possibly bigger than your S2 though, 25mm vs 23mm I think) but was 20mm lower and Frogisland on 968uk dropped 18mm beyond that for his Bilsteins. Each spline is 3mm so I'm thinking reindex it 39mm or 42mm lower which is 13 or 14 splines. That might sound a lot but the coilovers will raise it back up a bit when I put a bit of preload on them and I do not want to have to do this twice.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]"Since we're in there" we're doing the fuel and brake lines with genuine repair parts and I have some Weltmeister bushes for the rear arms to go on too.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

I have some weltmeister bushes for the rear arms, but after my ones for the front arms broke up (admitedly after a bit of machining to make them fit) I have not been too keen to fit them. Are they the very dark grey material?
Tony

Yes, dark grey plastic type stuff. They were cheap and it would be easy not to fit them - I'll do a search on Rennlist to see what the general feeling is about them.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]BTW what's this coming on my shiny thread posting pictures of your colour-coded suspension? [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Looks good - is it Leda? Do you have rear coilovers to match?[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

And another KLA top mounts are not bad the sphericals are cheap and have a little play in them so they may get replaced, A lot better than the 160K originals though

Yes its leda, fitted before Scotland, I went non-coil over rear, most of my miles are on the road and it took me long enough to fit them without reindexing the T-bars.

PS that was a Vspeedy reply [:D]

Interestingly when I tried to fit the other side following similar orientation to one above the knob hit the arm and I had to turn it round and move the spacer across.

So what's the verdict then? I take it you don't have any of the problems at the rear Daveyboy has had (obviously not his most recent one, but the knocking the preceeded it)?

Decided to try red stuff, they come with anti rattle shims on the rear and tapered edges to the friction area - wonder if the greens do now. Can't say I have noticed much difference on the road, they seem a bit lazy when cold, be interesting to see how they are on the track,

Leda quite pleased so far have them set 10 turns from soft will try winding them up further when I have a spare 5 mins, I have some knocking but I think it is the exhaust rather than the dampers, fairly certain it was there before, however I will investigate further and report back.
I also have a knocking at the front but that was also there before.
I wound the car back up closer to the standard ride height when I put them on, I had the techart lowering springs before and it felt wrong (possibly they were reaching full extension early) so I have dropped them closer to the tech art height (about half way between the two) and they feel much better. However they had a fairly heavy shakedown through scotland and give a good balance of ride/handling.
Bigger problem I have at the moment is a lack of warm starting ability since going to 55lb injectors, I think my ISV is sticking which wont be helping but its annoying its fine Hot or cold, other problem is i am supposed to be fitting a kitchen and work is quite busy right now, but I think thats far enough off thread for now!
