Owners Roll Call !

Personally, I don't think the combination of the additional polyurethane trims with the black rubbing strips works and I do believe your car would look better with the white 944 style strips that were fitted to the final S's of the production line - see the photos in the books on the 924 by Peter Morgan and Brian Long. They are what I've got on my two '88 Le Mans S and they look much better for them.

This rather odd looking combination does make me wonder if the polyurethane trims were added some time after delivery.

... but for confirmation you could e-mail marc.noack@porsche.de with the VIN number and a request for the original spec. of the car. I haven't got a note of the option number for the polyurethane valances but I'm sure Herr Noack will oblige as I've found him very helpful in the past.

Good morning, this is Paul
I am working on restoring a 1980 924 Turbo, the previous owner bought it as a parts car. The only thing that seems to be missing is the battery and the clutch master cylinder ( I can get one from GSF )
With jump leads from the old van , I have got all the electrics working except the fuel guage and windows.
haven't started her yet as I need to refit the distributer but it turns over OK.
Previous owner did say that there was an oil leak from the Turbo when it was last started about 2 years ago.
If any one knows JAP987V, I would be interested in any history of her.

Read this, and then this before trying to start the car. Both links will give you most things you need to know to get the car started. But in summary, replace the cam belt, renew the fuel and fuel filters. If the cam belt fails you will trash the engine.

Good luck, any pics

Hello Graham

Thanks for your kind words, we try our best.
Send an e-mail to 924@porscheclubgb.com and I'll send you a Register form for your car.

Best Regards [:)]

Paul,
I sent an e-mail to your club address but have not had a response-do I have to request a registration form for my new 924S trackday/sprint toy by letter so that you get a SAE perhaps.
Just sorting out some minor problems like windscreen washers, interior lights-have already made a support bracket for the cone air filter fitted by the previous owner, left unsupported in the engine bay-fitted a battery clamp-found an unconnected vacuum hose under the inlet manifold, now refitted-fitted a circular throttle cam & stripped all the transfers/decals off it.
Otherwise ,it is in excellent condition for £950

All 924 cars and owners are welcome [:)]

Please PM me your e-mail address and I'll respond with a Register form as soon as I am home on Friday.

Hi,
I have recently joined the ranks of 924 owners with a 1988 924s LeMans in black.
One (lady) owner from new with FSH and 51k on the clock.
I am well pleased as I have been promising myself one since I first saw a 924 in a show room in Belgium in 1976.
I have joined the register and have had a great deal of help and advice from the 924 OC regarding trim and other queries.
We are looking forward to getting out to Club events during the summer and once the snow has cleared we can give the Regional pub meets a visit.

Merry Xmas

Hi All,

We have recently purchased our first Porsche a beautiful peppermint 924S. The body and engine are very good but she is currently having a little welding done underneath. She drives well but needs a little TLC and a good service to make her into an excellent example and we look forward to using her throughout the summer.

Photo attached below.

Welcome to the fold,Jerry-great cars to own & drive-make certain you check the belts.

Cheers,
Colin.

Just bought a 1983 924 NA, lovely to drive.

Had to get rid of my 1980 924 Turbo restoration project as I only have room for 1 in the driveway.
