Owners Roll Call !

Ours is WPOZZZ92ZGN403246 ,so really quite "common " I suppose.Could this be the start of a new hobby; The David Allen(was it?) or "I-Spy" book of 924S chassis no's?

Cheers,
Colin.

I was reading about someone's 911 and he later found out that the chassis number after his one was a German lhd car. I have a 924 le mans (the white ltd edition with the script near the front wheel arch. 2.0ltr version) with the number ..3249. Perhaps it might be fun if we started a new topic on chassis numbers and see if any of the members cars are close or one before or one after.

I'll start it off on a new topic with my numbers.

Of course you do!

You will be on the list for magazine photo shoots and I will be able to put you in touch with fellow owners in your area on request.

You will aso gain the respect of all 924 Register members [:)]

Hello everybody,
I have owned my 1986 met light green (don't know the colour's name) 924S auto since september, its a joy to own and drive. How do I enter my details on the register for posterity? the car is mechanically nearly perfect but with a small number of stone chips on the nose. Internally the front seats are a bit tired so I am looking for an upholsterer in the west lancashire area to spruce them up a touch, can anybody point me in the correct direction?
I owned a 924 le mans (2.0lt) in the eighties, sold it to fund the deposit on my firsty home, however the performance of the 'S' seems much superior, or is that just the passage of time, expanding midriff and loss of hair that makes it seem faster??
Is there any point in rechipping the engine management system to give me more BHP, my mechanic doesn't think it will improve performance, any info or experience would be greatly appreciated and digested.
cheers, Tim

Hello Tim

Welcome to the forum [:)]

Your car looks fantastic and quite a rare colour as well - if you look inside the rear hatch on the back panel behind the spare wheel you should find the spec sticker which includes the colour code.

You will find many people who can offer advice on any aspect of 924 life on the forum.

Tp get yourself on the Register database send me an e-mail to 924@porscheclubgb.com and I'll e-mail you back a Register form to fill in.
I'm also interested in your previous 924 as it was a rare model.

Welcome aboard!

Hello all

my name is Nicholas and I have just aquired a black c reg 924 i will be joining the club next week and subject to getting the power windows to work will have the car on the road by christmas and hope to meet other 924 owners in the lincs area soon

Hello Nicholas, welcome to the forum.
Someone was telling me that it is difficult to tell if you have connected up the electrics the right way, something to do with the connections all looking the same!
The upshot is that the electrics may be working perfectly but only window may be working.
I've never had to touch my electric windows, let us know what you find and how you get on.

Look forwards to you joining us.

I will be entering the Furture Classis race series run by the Classic Car Club in 2009.
Paul - please register me on your database - do you want a form filled in?

The car is well developed and has full data logging. Weighs about 925 kilos and has 137 bhp on the dyno.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who races, sprints or hillclimbs their 924 for mutual anoraking.

Hi name's Ian; own a 924S, quite the most fun car I think I've owned!

Any other Birmingham owners out there? Also am a member of 924 Owners Club... far more reasonable membership fee afraid to say than GB!

Hello to all. My name is Marty Grant and i've owned my 1984 Lux for over 12 years, this was my daily driver up until last year. Over the last 2 years i'm afraid she's become a bit weather beaten but people still stare as the tasteful 17inch wheels, gold paint and 968 mirrors give her a modern twist on a retro ride.
My other 924 is a series 1 turbo which I purchased back in 1999 used for a year then started a resto (which it didn't need!). I am in the process of fitting a GT body kit at the moment.
I do drive a modern car too, Mazda 6 MPS, but I just can't bring myself to flog the 924's. I guess once they are under your skin, they're under your skin!

Hello Ian.

Yes I agree the membership price is higher than the 924 Owners Club but both give value for money in their own way.
You have a full year calendar of events all over the country with PCGB plus Porsche Post for starters.

Plus this forum with lots of lovely 924 people on it [:)]

There are 6 active 924 owners in the 'B' postcode region plus many more 'sleeping' members.

If you fill out a Register form (send me an e-mail 924@porscheclubgb.com and I'll send you one) I can get you in touch with people in your area.

Hello Marty, just noticed you posted 15 minutes ago!

Welcome to the forum [:)]

I'd like to record details of yourself and both of your 924, send me an e-mail to 924@porscheclubgb.com and I'll send you a Register form.

S1 Turbos are like hens teeth now, make a 356 look common, and I know what you mean about the car getting under your skin, had my 2 litre since 2000 and I've not seriously tried to sell it since. Girlfriend has a new Fiesta but I'd rather drive the 924.

Hi my name is Martin Thompson and I live in North Wales with my motley collection of 924s.....oh and my family!

I've actually been a member of PCGB for a few months but being IT illiterate haven't previously got onto the Forum.

Since March last year my son, Glen, and I have accumulated a few tatty vehicles with a view to putting most of them back on the road and selling a few of them. At present we have the following -

ECZ 8992 1980 924 Turbo series 1 in Black
WPC 294X 1981 924 Turbo series 2 in Guards Red

PYY 891R (originally but now on an Irish plate which I haven't got a note of) 1977 924 Martini Limited Edition
RYM 29R 1977 924 Martini Limited Edition

RYM 32R 1977 924 in Diamond Silver Metallic
CHT 509V 1980 924 in (I think) Helios Blue
MAB 285X 1982 924 in Claret or Surinam Metallic
XVR 907X 1982 924 in Light Blue Metallic
TNF 782X 1982 924 in Guards Red
?Y 1983 924 in Zermatt Silver (?)
?Y 1983 924 in Diamond Silver Metallic (being dismantled as a spares car due to terminal floor damage)
EIB 9599 1983 924 in Guards Red
A64 MBW 1983 924 Lux in Black

HIL 5924 1985 924S in Crystal Green Metallic (chassis no. 92Z6N400540)
C4 JNS 1988 924S Le Mans in Alpine White

Paul, the only one I haven't sent you a form for is RYM 29R which we only bought yesterday and will be collecting on Saturday. I'll let you have the form as soon as I can.

ECZ 8992 is close to completion following which it will be sold to fund the work on the other cars. XVR 907X and A64 MBW both need a little engine work after which they too will be sold by which time we hope to have RYM 29R back on the road and possibly one or two of the others.

I will add photos as and when my limited abilities permit !

Hi Paul,

Have just drove my 924 to work which i bought off Ebay, very pleased with her and pulls very well with great handling. I do need to replace the rear shocks no leaks just a bit rusty, i will register her soon. Not sure of my position i may sell my C180 and use the 924 every day.

[:)]

Im Chris i've just become a new member to the club I own a silver 1981 924 turbo, located in Essex, i have owned the car for 5 years after buying it from a family member for a small price, they owned it for 10 years. When purchesing the car there were a number of things that needed fixing which have/ are being in the process of being done and, i felt its time to join the club.

Chris

Hello Peter, use the 924 everyday is my advice, if you need a Register form let me know and I'll e-mail one to you.

Hello Chris, welcome to the forum - fantastic to see a 924 Turbo in good hands, they are getting scarce now and PCGB is the place to be for help and advice on getting (and keeping) it in good order.

Will we be seeing you both at FrontRunner?
