PCGB Track Day with OPC GLasgow

Very tempting thanks but not organised for that right now - next time maybe. Think I would get some track day insurance first. Hope to see some of you tomorrow.

ORIGINAL: gmcraib Looking forward to this. Am taking a friend along, presume we are allowed to take a passenger (with helmet and long sleeves etc)? I got new brake fluid at last service and checked the pads, plenty of meat. Will take some oil and a few tools just in case. Do we have an area we can leave stuff? Don't want to be lapping with a box of tools etc in the front boot (upsets the weight....)
See you tomorrow g been to long bud 😜

Great day out even though I did not track the Spyder ...nice meeting up with new people on the forum and seeing some old faces again . Brian

Managed to pop down to spectate the morning session a multitude of GT3`s pounding round myself and junior stood down at the end of the straight for a while some spirited driving from the blue GT3 , C2Ssilver, Grey GT3 and white Cab and nearest off went to the white caymen[:D] decent weather for a change at Knockhill

Fantastic day, great weather, relaxed atmosphere and well organised. Thanks to Scott, Porsche Glasgow and pcgb for putting it together and making it happen Hopefully it will happen again next year, but we need to show our support for it. I would book again. Alan.

Great day out - and the weather held for most of the day! Hope this becomes an annual event - after today, it deserves to be.

Not good Stevo hope its nothing serious. Are you still doing the smrc, classics ? Im hoping to get out in a few SLS rounds this year at Knockhill. Sounds like a good day was had by all, sadly couldnt make it due to work.

great day out and pretty much without incident. Apart from a lets say a bit of engine trouble and of course somebody locking their keys in the boot!

First track day for me, had a great time and will definitely be back for another. Well done the organisers.

To echo others, thanks to all the organisers, staff and other drivers who made my first ever track day so enjoyable. Relaxed, friendly with curteous driving from all. The only thing wrong was the size of the fuel tank on my car. Also a big thanks to Matt for showing me how it should be done. I'm in for next year! L

As above, including the fuel issue. Here is a small piece of video that captures a few of the regular cars but sorry G not yours. D. https://youtu.be/WUMr7JLhYMk

Great day, no car issues, good see everyone supporting the day. Nice to have my old pal Frazer M back on track and properly fast in his Toyo shod Cayman S Did about 140 laps, car is black with brake dust!! Met Kenny in his Riviera blue 991 GT3 and wow is that a machine, totally digital compared to my analog Mk1, sensationally fast but it does do an awful lot for the driver, very flattering. Superb variety of new and old Porsche models, good manners on track, hope the chap who locked his keys in the car got a solution. Mike

I was working in Dunfermline in the morning so I stopped in at Knockhill on the way back. Even though I didn't have the RS with me it was good to drop by and meet folks, see Porsches being used as they were meant to be! Looked like a great day all round, friendly, well organised, and safe driving. Are there any more Knockhill meets planned this year? I also was lucky enough to get a few laps round the circuit with SMRC regular Matt Collins in his race Cayman and see how to drive properly fast. What a great experience, thanks Matt.

Absolutely brilliant day - many thanks to OPC Glasgow & PCGB for organising this and also to all at Knockhill and especially Andrew, the instructor on the day. I was a car trackday virgin and filled with trepidation when the day arrived but the experience exceeded all expectations. It was great to meet so many like-minded enthusiasts (not, as the wife suggested, a load of middle aged men talking Porsche-shit) and witness some extremely rapid but safe driving. This was the first time my 1982 SC has been used in anger since going back on the road in January following a 19 year absence and 3 year re-build and was my first opportunity to explore the handling characteristics of the legendary 911 rear engine layout. So much confidence gained with over more than 100 miles on track using every available rpm and still the slowest out there - intoxicating, but not at warp factor speed! The last 3 years have been a long journey and steep learning curve, but all worth it many times over after Saturday. Thanks to all who showed an interest in my 33 year old and I enjoyed the chat. I'm ready to sign up for the next one - let's hope its not too long.

Alastair your car was fantastic, a credit to your skill and patience. Thanks for taking me out in it and then surprisingly let me drive, your right it's quicker from the passenger seat!

Hi folks, Im new to the club and forum. Thanks for organising the day! Hopefully more porsche days at Knockhill. Count me in for any future events. I was in the black Cayman R. Apologies for not introducing myself, was having too much fun as the circuit was nice and quiet. Nice to see loads of varied cars and good etiquette. Hopefully the first timers enjoyed themselves and are up for more. Cheers, Gav

Wee 5min track video of a few sedate laps from Mr 7/10ths, car sounds good even tho its not fast !! http://youtu.be/DdrztAGfeEI
