But I thought I'd pop in to say hello as the forum is very quiet and although I see a lot of Porsches around I'd wrongly assumed that there were no track day people around (except for Boxsey).

Great to see so much interest in this, and so many R5 members out there dropping in on the forum.

Ricardo, your are very welcome to attend the monthly meetings, as is anyone else of course who has not been before - members or non-members - come along! We are finalising the calendar for 2008 and it's looking good, with lots of fun events for the year to suit everyone's taste. I'll post a calendar on this forum shortly.

I'm too chicken to take my newly-painted front bumper on the track on the RS day, so will glady chaperone the photo-taking with Nick. If we keep it very informal, I don't see anyone at Oulton getting upset, as long as we don't put the cars anywhere we're not supposed to and don't behave like we have special rights (leave your helicopters at home just this once please [:D]).

Basically, we're only looking for a nice back-drop, in a safe position on the site (which might be a corner of one of the car parks). I would add that permission is likely to be needed if anyone plans to sell any photos taken, but I understand that this won't be the case (right?...right? [;)]).

Anyway, I'll ring them at Oulton to check this is all okay. Will update you shortly.

id be up for this picking up my 944s2 on sat gives me a few months to get it all shiney lol

Only just stumbeled across this thread, I'm almost a yes for this.
Just wanna do an engine flush/oil change and cam belt then i'd be there!

So far I've got the verbal from Oulton that it should be okay to take photos on the RS day on 15th March if they are for non-commercial purposes and within designed public parking areas. Just waiting for email confirmation from Circuit Manager though...

Good news, here is the Circuit Manager's reply to my email:

Dr Lennox

I received your e mail re taking photographs.

This is no problem at all. Obviously all photographers will have to stay behind the fencing and not be tempted to get any closer to the circuit.

I hope the weather is good for you.
