Pictures post!

How good do those Fuchs rims look on that white car?![8D][:D]

Wrong offsets for later cars like mine, I'm guessing...?[8|]

Yes, they woud stick out of wings about 30 mm, but you can have aftermarkets units built to the spec you want (£££).

Couple of pics of mine...

John - Any more information on your car? Looks like a roll cage inside.
What mods etc you got.

Reason i ask is that im having a 944 built to my specification at the moment and am wondering what to have/not have on the car.

No worries Rav

Easiest is see here The details are a bit out of date now but mechanically near enough. I need to update the page to include seat, harness and roll hoop.

Ooooh that's the first pic I have seen with the bar fully installed - Looking mean and purposeful John [8D]

I need to cut of the excess length on the shoulder straps - think of the weight. [;)]

John, is that a lumbar support that is stuck on with Velcro? Were you able to try a few different seats to get the size you liked and is it squeezy tight or do you have room for movement? Have you had your car on the track since the new mods?
Looks very nice.
Your home electricity bill must be killing you. [:D]

<John, is that a lumbar support that is stuck on with Velcro? >
Yes. I am still trying with and without. It is probably marginally better with.

<Were you able to try a few different seats to get the size you liked>
Yes. I spent some time on the Cobra stand at the NEC The MD is a Porsche nut and a very nice man. I had to go for the fat git GT size though. You can not buy a car seat of this type without sitting in it first - it is like buying a helmet.

< and is it squeezy tight or do you have room for movement?> It is tight enough but still very comfortable. I have back issues currently and the Cobra seat is the most comfortable sit I get, be it in any of our cars or chairs at home.

<Have you had your car on the track since the new mods?>
Not yet but have driven it a lot on the road. Driving with a shell seat is like having the cotton wool removed from your ears. The car talks to you so much better. You can tell the exact moment the back end starts to break loose where, with big comfy cusions, the padding absorbs the initial signals so you don't know until it is happening. I love it. It is a must have upgrade for a driving car. Think of it as sensorary HiFi.

<Looks very nice.>
Thanks. It still gives me a big smile.

John,
I like that analogy of the cotton wool being removed. [:)]
I have a similar seat and the difference is difficult to put into words by comparison with the stock seats. Even as a daily driver I'd be tempted to use one of these type seats. I know all about back pain too. No fun. As for the lumbar support, I've tried something that just made things worse so I've pinched a green cushion from our sitting room. Shh, I don't thinks she's missed it yet. [:D]
Post some video or pics when you're next at the track please.

944 leads the way...

This is the last time this picture is possible, the S2 is of to my brother next week and will be white soon unless enough ppl convince me something like Riviera blue would be nicer [:)]

You know its funny you say that because I spent ages list night on the colours threads, then looked at loads of other Porsches in similar blue hues and decided that Maritime is not only the nicest blue on a 944, its probably the nicest colour full stop.

I know Kevin said to me he gets bored of white cars, and he did suggest Maritime blue so it looks like Maritime it is [:)]

Excellent choice!

Here is my 964 3.6T in the very same colour. It works so well on any Porsche (a friend has a 968 CS in the same colour).

And since this is the pics thread, here are some pics of the white 944 Turbo that I bought a month ago. It's just returned from Porsche Reading who've attended to a few minor items. I have to say I really do love driving the car - such wonderful steering and fluid handling.
