Pictures post!

This is a very nice white 944 you have there sivermee. Looks quite clean indeed, is it a low mileage? It looks like the 23k miles car that we discussed on here some weeks ago.

Whoever fitted this Becker stereo must have great taste - I have the same one [:D]

Yes, it's done 22,500 miles. I'll be adding a few more to that!

And thank you for the comment about the Becker. I've just had it installed. I think it does not look out of place in terms of period with the interior, and yet has all the modern functionality one could want.

Kind regards

Steve

That has to be the dictionary definition of spotless!
And very nice it is too - wouldn't stay like that on the lanes around here mind.
Also I must buy a Becker Grand Prix - it just looks right.

That turbo really does look like a new 944, wonderful to see such fabulous cars. That Maritime Blue 964, what can I say it just looks perfect, I have to use this colour now it will be wonderful.

One the subject of white ones!

I've been looking one of these for quite a while and picked this up at the weekend, It is like a new car, bloody immaculate! definate credit to the previous owner(s)

You will need to delete the square brackets and their contents that will sit at either end of the link before posting them...

Photobucket has several different links. The direct link doesnt have the square brackets whereas the image one does. Hence the need to use the "direct" one - Just copy and paste as is, works for me. [:)]

Oh and clearly black 944's are best [;)]

...and use the image button at the top of the edit panel to put the forums needed img tags around the link to the picture. Took me a lot of trial and error to discover this, the img tags used by photobucket don't work with this forum as they are upper case and the forums own ones are lower case.

This is it IMHO, the best version and model year of any 944/968 IMHO in the best colour body and wheel combination. Perfect.

Here's a recent pic of mine (the pristine one Thom talks about ;) ) with the 8 and 9 Fuchs fitted.

Fantastic - I think the Fuchs look especially good on your car as they continue the black & white theme of the car.

[:)]

Thanks.

The next step is the install of a (satin black) bridge spoiler. I like the rubber spoiler but the side trim pieces don't fit perfect with the roof rack on the car... More the current hatch begins to delaminate.

At the end, it should look like the car on the detailing tutorial by D9

None of my business whatsoever,i like both spoilers, but the rubber spoiler you have goes so much better with Fuchs period wheels, they look like they belong together..The bridge spoiler car looks like a late car with the wrong wheels.

I know it might come across as snobby, it isn't meant to, but I agree with Mark.

The 944 is a very clever design in that it has spanned 10+ years of production and 20+ years of use. It's body is almost timeless and looks (to the most part) as contemporary now as it did the day it came off the production line.

The things that locate it within a certain time are the likes of the wheels and the rubber spoiler. Fuchs wheels were on the very first 944's and the bridge spoiler on the very last - they don't really gel. You wouldn't put GT3 wheels on a 930SE or Fuchs on a Cayman. Fuchs are perhaps one the the most iconic of all Porsche wheels but do nail the car in a specific time frame - if the whole car doesn't compliment the wheels you do neither justice.

What, I think, we are saying is rather than say "That car looks stunning and the wheels are fabulous" people will say "That car has the wrong spoiler."

Marc already has a complete late hatch in stock so I believe we will fit it and see how it looks, and if it works with the roof rack.

Initially I also thought it was going to look "wrong" but seeing pictures of the red 944 above has convinced me otherwise and Marc's car being white I believe it should look fine if the spoiler remains black as intended.

Well looks wise I could go either way but I agree that the car looks so original and special I would want to keep it that way. One other thing to think about though, I have a 968 and my experience now is that those bridge spoilers are a real PITA. They have all these separate pieces that start to come apart, the hockey sticks on the sides start to fall off, it does my head in. The one great thing about the rubber spoiler is that all they need is some boot polish to look good and the occasional poking out of dirt in the drain hole. After living with both I much prefer the 944 spoiler, I feel the same now about the badly fitting 968 side skirts, another PITA whose attraction has worn right off. My tastes have changed dramatically over the past 6 months of 968 ownership, I now much prefer the plain clean look of an early turbo on Fuchs to a 968 any day.

The Becker Grand Prix stereos are great.
Ive had one for around 18 months + find then fab, You can get a I-pod adapter for them aswell + put the pod in the glove box.. + bluetooth for the phone...[:D][:D][:D]

You know its funny you say that because I spent ages list night on the colours threads, then looked at loads of other Porsches in similar blue hues and decided that Maritime is not only the nicest blue on a 944, its probably the nicest colour full stop.

I know Kevin said to me he gets bored of white cars, and he did suggest Maritime blue so it looks like Maritime it is [:)]

Neil you gotter do it in Riviera blue.....[:D][8D][8D][8D]

Sorry i disagree with Dave too ,Riviera looks funny and odd especially in some light conditions[:'(],i bought a 968 cs in Riviera by mistake (i thought Riviera was Maritime and i bought it over the phone-i was gutted when i laid eyes on it) Riviera just looks dayglo 80s badtaste,Maritime is pure class,so much so i really want a car in that colour one day.(The turbo 3.6 is STUNNING).Apologies to any Riviera fans/owners i tried it(by mistake) and just didn't like it.....alot.
P.S On a positive note if its a race car at least people would see you in it and maybe stay out of your way??(There, i tried)[:D]

Maritime blue and Mint green, the kind of colours that make me feel my teeth are going to fall off each time I see them [:'(] [:D]
