Porsche 944 Turbo Restoration - Picture Heavy

ORIGINAL: Frenchy Mad as a Badger......................great work though, big respect [;)]
Indeed! [:D] I wish just one of the jobs I've done on the car was half as good as everything on this thread. [&:]

ORIGINAL: jonnyporsche Ken, my wife is so impressed with the polished finish....................on the top of your toolbox [:D]
[:D] thanks I'll let my wife know she always moans at the car parts in the house.......and she goes mad if I spray things in the lounge....but do I moan when she paints her nails, do I send her outside....no [:D] Thanks for the positive comments [:)] It keeps me motivated to get it finished

Those oil cooler pipes are a horrible design and so exposed to the road. Over time they do become quite brittle, I was on my way back from Scotland and I heard a knock from the underside of the car, as if something had been flick up from the road. Two weeks late I had a little oil patch underneath the rear of the car, at first glance I though it was the output seals but this pipe had actually fractured. I'm currently in the process of fitting an aftermarket cooler which will be a little less exposed.

your attention to detail is astounding a real credit to your hard work and single minded approach well done , I wish I had the time and space and cash flow to be able to do just 50% of the amazing work you have done

Engine build finally started pistons of to Capricorn for ceramic coating, block ready for nikasill coating[:)]

Oil cooler refurb looks great :) Will almost be a shame to get this dirty when finished!! Will it be a sunny day car? Also - further back you mention the windscreen blocks and clicking - what is supposed to click??

The window blocks have a little metal clip that clicks when rotated, these cost about £3 if remember correctly some parts are so cheap I will drive it for six months then sell it and do another one[:)]

Ken, excellent repair of the door bins fixing. I did mine the other month and I araldited a small washer to the remaining plastic face to give surface to screw through. It worked well but not as neat as yours. I am going to redo mine ....... I must stop reading your thread to many ideas. ian
