Porsche Spotting

I saw a lovely Navy 928 S4/GTS on Tottenham Court Road at Lunchtime reg BIG 1023
They have so much road presence and lovely noise!

I keep seeing a lovely black S2/Turbo in Northampton but never seem to get close enough to have a good look. The car looks very shiny from a distance.

Blimey Mike ! , I'm not suprised you spot so many you do get around the country a bit don't you.

I have yet to have been spotted anywhere but live in hope that the odds are you will spot me eventually even if no one else does [:D]

( and no spotting me at Rutland doesnt count [8D] )

I do 35k a year in the va, my area goes from Hunstanton to Wrexham, Brackley to Stoke on Trent - with regular meetings in Manchester!

Spring must be round the corner, 944 owners (me included) are dusting their cars off. Spotted a red 944 on the A370 just outside Weston on Sat 20th Feb (think he saw me wave from mine). A white 944 by the M5 J21 on it's way into Weston on the A370 one morning last week and a dark grey metallic 944 travelling norht on the M5 between J's 20 & 19 this Monday March 1st.
Look fgorward to seeing last more hopefully while I'm driving mine.

White 944 having some attention in Burton Joyce near Nottingham. No no plate so guessing its taking some time!
Mike

Red 924S in Slough today at about 17:00... Was in a Silver 9-3 convert as my 944 is awaiting parts still.... I did wave - and he waved back :) Must of thought I was a right nut!. lol

Waiting to fill up at the BP station in Towcester at lunchtime, another mirrror image white 944 Cab pulls up next to me, altho' didnt seem to stop for fuel so we didnt get to chat. Towcester was gridlocked tho! Were you filling your face in McDonalds??!
Also, followed a red Boxster out of the village this morning (Weedon) and we crossed paths on our homewards journey too.

Red Lux with sunroof up and rear toast valance going through Shalford on Saturday lunchtime, driven by a guy in his 20's with his lady in passenger seat.

Looked a well kept beast.

I'd never seen a 944 in the flesh until I bought my 1st S back in 2006. About a week later a saw a Red NA driving around.

Within the past month I've spotted

White Turbo/S2 heading towards Killamarsh from Worksop and vica versa.

Blue Turbo/S2 leaving Sheffield via the parkway.

Red Turbo/S2 cab sat at the traffic lights near Vandykes garden center.

Anyone on here own these cars? I was the white Turbo that flashed or waved at you.

Red S2 (?) drove down the road my office is on, on Royal Oak in Daventry, this morning - sadly, again, was driving the S-Max.....

Spotted....me fixing my S2 on Google Streetview back last summer.

you poser james[:D]

How long did you have to wait before the camera car came along lol[;)]

How does the Z4 cabin compare to the S2 ? they looked a bit claustaphobic when I considered one a few years back (6'0" 17 stone)

Just good luck I guess that they came past on the day. French registered IIRC.

Meanwhile the Z4 cabin is definitely cosy, and I'm not the biggest chap either, but I quite like that in a sports car. I enjoy the fact that, like the 944, you sit in it rather than on it. Visibility out of the back is like looking through a letterbox, mind.

Where did you put the bricks? do they improve the traction?

Bricks, and indeed the driveway belong to my mum and dad, so they've become some kind of garden feature!

Seeing that shot though makes me realise how much I miss working on a car - but then I must remember that was the time when the lower eccentric bolt sheared off and the local OPC messed up, leaving me stranded for two days.

Cheers

James (who's definitely not looking for a project 944 to turn into a track car)

I do hope your Z4 mc is not from the Midlands, black with champagne interior and piano black trim.[][][]. That one got a VERY hard life! Also I don't mean to preach but be careful with that car it has a nasty habbit of luring you into a false sense of security with good behaviour then biting your arm off on a corner you've done 100 times. I've had some very leary cars and learnt them pretty quickly but I spun my Z4mc three times and was very lucky never to do any more damage than to replace my alloys and bend a £65 tie bar (twice...and the same one!).

It's a lovely looking car that and a fantastic engine but you'll be back to the 944 one day[;)]

p.s. Ohh year I remember why I was here. Saw a blue S2/turbo heading toward the A34 from Bristol way. Lovely, rare, bright, non metallic blue. Looked fantastic!
