'Pre 1974' Track Day - Silverstone

ORIGINAL: Sally Ferry

Hi Plilip,
Excellent! There are fewer and fewer 'noisy' tack days now. As a 2.4 sporto,
I think I will be lapped rather frequently by a sprint winning 3.2 RS though!
possably but after they have lapped me in my 2.2 sporto[]......

Hi Raymond,

ORIGINAL: boydyrs
Absolutely put my name down and thanks
I will call club and pay by CC now

[:)] It'll be great to have you along - it's going to be an amazing sight to see so many early cars out [;)]

I have never driven Silverstone and will be travelling from Scotland for the weekend event and this will just round it off nicely.

Do remember, it's the Silverstone National and not the full GP circuit - the GP has the huge hanger straight which, in an old car, is a bit pointless - the National takes in all the good bits but is a bit shorter in length - so much better suited to our cars.

I am organising trip for the Scots to the AVD oldtimers in Aug and I may have 2 rooms/4 people spaces if required.
This is a guys trip and I am happy to include and organise

Sadly I'm all out of 'car passes' this year, with Silverstone, Hedingham and Ragley - so I'll have to skip it - but it sounds like a superb trip [:)]

Philip

Several people have asked me the position on 'additional drivers'.

For all those thinking of coming - Steve Kevlin has kindly confirmed that additional drivers are ÂŁ25 per driver. Of course, each 'car' place includes one driver [:)]

Hi Philip,

Yes please add my name to the list. I will CC the club.

Helen.. I think we are the only two women Sporto junkies, so maybe we should lead the guys?!

Hi Philip . . . . currently on holiday so limited internet access (week and a half remaining) . . . . .. please could you put me down for this . . . . cheers and well done Phil

Thanks Andy and Phil - the total, provided all who've comitted to coming SEND IN THEIR FORMS AND CHEQUES IS

38 [:)]

Unfortunately, Steve Kevlin has, as of Friday night, only received 10 completed forms and cheques - if you've said you're coming, please get the form and payment back to Club Office asap.

And if you still haven't decided to come - where else will you see this many Early 911, 912, 356 and 914 on a track? Get your finger out and your form sent in [:D]

Hello Phillip and boydyrs,

I just called the club office and they do not take Credit Card payments[].
The month of March is unfortunately "Big Bills Month" for me as i have both my cars to insure, tax the Fudgester, etc, etc.

I wanna go but my liquid funds are rather limited at this moment in time [&o] SOB! SOB! BWAAAAA [:(]

Methinks a short prayer to the Porsche Gods is required so that i can work some overtime to fulfill this golden opportunity.

Keep taking life 912Easy

Rick my fine fellow, this track day isn't untill the end of July. so phone Steve Kevlin up and have a chat, explan funds are a bit low untill (date) and i'm sure he can reserve your place with a deposit and balance to be paid later or maybe a post dated cheque or something. you are a register assistant (staff) after all.

Well done to you for getting this organised Phil.

Cheque sent today and looking forward to the 30th.

Will be at the Silverstone Classic on the 29th as well.

Hi Ian - really glad you're coming along [:)]

I'll be manning the Early 911 Register display - as well as cooking on the BBQ at the campsite in the evening - so do come and say 'hi'!

Philip

Back on-line . . . . I'll be posting my cheque off shortly . . . .

Will have to do something about my exhaust I fear (i.e. put caps on the twin outlets[:(] - or change it altogether [X(]).

Philip, what happens if I turn up and it's too loud?

You'd need to check with Steve Kevlin - but as a normal rule you wouldn't be allowed on the circuit []

BUT it's a 105db day - is your car really that loud? [:)]

Helen - 105db is the same noise level as my GT3 Cup Car (race car in the garage)! It's highly unlikely your car will be as bad - BUT I have a sound meter at the house - if you're up this way, let me know and I'll measure it for you.
