Riviera Blue Race Car 4 Auction ....>

So a 993RS rep at 993 prices -ready to race...what's wrong with that? [:)]

What did the ex Porscheshop 964 go for???

ORIGINAL: 964RS

Hi Hugh. [:)] I had a look around it today too. I also got 3 people ,knowledgeable in Porsches, to look at the car for me. [8|] Yes it looks like it's had a hard life - not many (err correction - none) of the panels seem to fit right. Perhaps because it's on it's 3rd shell. [&:][:(] Also - little is known about it's history (I asked Coys and at the PCGB stand). It's been 'dressed' to look like an RS in order to get a buyer. The large wing would have to be replaced with a C2 wing and the 18" wheels would have to be changed to 17" I believe, but may be wrong, for the PCGB Championship racing series. I suspect that there may be many other things to change and I suggest it would be wiser for a buyer to purchase a car that has just completed a race series. [;)]

Hey Jason. [:)] You're right - there is a deal to be struck. They did appear to have some (professional) flexibility. I made a mistake with my figures. Coys and PCGB informed me that VAT would be on the premium only so the total would be £23,600. I think money would have to be spent on it no matter what route the buyer chose. It's a UK C2 at the beginning and at the end of the day. [:)]

Potentially this car is going through its low dip right now. If you look at the money paid for 70s 911s with chequered history and some RS updates but a bit of period racing then you have to wonder if this car could be the same in 10 years time. continue racing it, over time get a few things fixed when it makes sense and you might have a lovely little track / race car with period history (TBC) for standard 993 money. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it didnt look like a run and hide type of car to me. Just an honest race car.

Paul, a set of wheels and wing to make it eligble for PCGB is nothing surely. You'll get moeny back! Plus it can probably go straight in AMOC intermarque and maybe D.Marques / Future Classics right now! Certainly prepping a road / project 993 is going to cost you more and you end up with a car with no history.

Just an alternative view.

Wouldnt worry about the body kit. its a bonus to be honest. The car will have lots of bits on it that probably wont make it legible for the Porsche Championship anyway and even if it were, if you want to keep it tidy, that probably wouldnt be my first choice of a championship to race it in. Better off keeping the CS body kit on it, uprating it to 3.8 and racing it in the Intermarque or CCC champ.
