Rutland Meet - Now 27/02/11

It was great to see so many 944s together. Thanks to those who I spoke to. You all made me feel very welcome.

I'm now utterly convinced that a 944 is for me. Even better than that, my girlfriend is also convinced! I will have to add her as a named driver, but that's a small price to pay!

Andy and I are just on your doorstep mate if you need any more advice or you just want to burn some fossil fuel.

Supberb,
If it was not so far would love to have been there, warm sunshine in Cumbria today ! no 944 action though, been messing with drainpipes on the house, seems as though a Lakes meet is in order !
Summer time by the lake ?

I have uploaded a very short vid of the queue to leave the Car Park, with commentary from Rhys (aged 7)....

Great clip!

I missed that sort of view as I was leading, its great being part of the pack.

I was at the back of 8 944s a couple of years ago, its a wonderful sight.

Thanks To Andy for sorting the food and a bit of luck we could get in for lunch even if it was a little interesting wondering what food would be left! Time went very fast didn't get a chance to speak to lots of you. Nice to see Mark if only briefly, thanks for all the nice comments on my car, there were some lovely cars there Scotty would be proud ;) Nice vid too
Was planning to have a look at the lovely 911 Turbo too but rain stopped me!

Nice to meet everybody today

sorry could not make it in my 944 but Smiffyraf was there and after all he is borrowing mine for a while.

Perhaps next year we could go to Rutland and then after lunch you chaps might like to come to my workshop for a ramp inspection and coffee.

Well done Andy

ha ha ha i assume you mean borrowing elliot! Its your fault for letting me buy it! i wont ever be able to let it go now! too much fun. It would be great to do it again. A year is too long to wait though. I was thinking maybe getting a load of us in at work and doing a shoot with one of the jets. Theres a families day in august and as one of my friends is heavily into mini's and rallying has a load of ex wrc and classic rally cars and nottingham mini club doing a car show on the day. maybe could get a few porkas there too.

Andy, Great morning. Thanks for organising. Excellent to see so many of the mark in one place at the same time. Enjoyed chatting with with you all about the little niggles we all have with our cars and our future plans and aspirations. See you all at future meets.

Does that mean you may have access to a nice long runway, where theoretically one may be able to actually test one's top speed??????

Marham runs a trackday which I believe is open to all, maybe we should infiltrate one year ;)

Do they allow access to the full runway though? I have an itch that I really haven't been able to scratch yet.

ha ha i dont know if i could wrangle that one, theres fod issues. and we used to do it at cottesmore until people couldn't brake in time and a BMW and a citroen ended up through the fence at the end of the runway and abandoned in the farmers field.

PS couldn't get your facebook link.

hawk mk1's,

so according to this forum that must make them faster. ;)
have put a photobucket link back on my first post with the facebook one on.

A great 944 meet up and thanks to those who helped organise, cheers to Ron who let me try out his KW equipped S2 and answered all my boring questions!

Perhaps we could organise another 944 orientated meet later in the year when the weather is more pleasant?

Edd
