Silverstone 944 track evening *MK2* August 17th

Not yet, I'll go back over the footage and have a look, I was taking a different (in hindsight probably slower) line through Becketts but other than that it should be pretty comparable. I'll try and work it out tonight (assuming I got a clear lap of course!).

Peter -- good video, impressive levels of control and calmness in the car -- uncanny how the extra speed makes it look so much more exciting than my own car!

Did anyone actually overtake you? If so, I bet their car cost over £100k !!

As an aside you should hurry up and get a race licence, PCGB racing needs guys like you. Or at the very least get ready to be part of an endurance race next season -- you never know I might call !!

who's the idiot at 3.05? [:D]

I never knew there was a layby at that part of the circuit [:D] Excellent parking at speed

most kind [:)]. In my defence, I would like to point out that having performed my act of muppetry I did at least manage to not stall the car, so was able to rejoin as soon as the white flash had shot past, without any delays to the evening's entertainment!

Thanks Paul [:)]

Not much got past from memory, but being realistic most of the drivers there in the evening were probably novices, I think the day sees much faster metal running that I wouldn't have had a chance against.

If I had the funds and the time I'd love to get involved in racing, I'm hoping that I will be working slightly less hours next year so should be able to take the odd Saturday off and will try to get involved in a few sprints (the Crystal Palace one for example), but just for a bit of fun. I don't want to get competitive in a class as I'm sure a world of expense will open up and my car was never designed with that in mind.

I really must get a race license as it's on my big to do list, when things have calmed down a bit at work I think I'll look into it again, perhaps over the winter.

I noticed that as well. When I arrived at about 4pm the paddock was completely full with race transporters, motor homes and all manner of support staff for some pretty exotic race cars. It was never that bad when I used to do regular trackdays, my personal view is they should be using proper test days and not track days to get their practice in. However, I do appreciate that in these times the organisers need to be fully booked to make any money. [&:]

Sorry Peter

I binned the out of focus clips!

And then cleaned and defraged it last night.

Now you will have to sort another evening!
