SNETTERTON 300

What happened to Dan? there isnt anything to hit at Snett really is there? Apart from the Turnips at Richies.

Yes, excellent day, well run by ET, though a bit too much malfunctioning Jap rubbish causing red flags for my liking...... The changes to the circuit are, overall, pretty good IMHO, with a variety of different types and speed of corner, most with several possible lines - should make for interesting racing. It would be nice to have a bit more elevation change, but then again it is Norfolk !!! Never quite got round to that passenger ride Mel ........... next time then ! Would be nice to see a few more familiar faces for the next one - perhaps some of those from the frozen North might like to sample the civilization, and reduction in cloth-cap and whippetry on offer down South ??? Jamie

Who's Dan ......... ? I didn't see any accidents during the day, so can only assume it must have been a mechanical issue ????

Dan's got the yellow GT3 Mk II (now with original silver wheels and MPS 2s due to unavailability of Corsas). I got on track at about 12.30. Had 10 mins then a red flag. Out again and took the chequered at 1PM for lunch. Just after the chequered as I lifted off the engine got horribly noisy. Before I switched off I checked that there was oil (which there was). Bernard Tester put his laptop on and proved that I'd not overrevved it (thanks Bernard). Paul Mace of GT Marques went out of his way to recover the car to his facility at High Wycombe - there's no info yet as to what the problem (s) might be (Paul lent me his own Cayenne to get home in - I left High Wycombe gone midnight!).

Last time i left a track day like that it was a broken rocker , sounded like a death rattle ..........dont know if GT3 s suffer that.........lets hope its nothing worse Dan Paul Mace run gt3 s everything he ll sort u out

I was trying out various settings on a new camera yesterday and have lots of pictures - most of which demonstrate what settings not to use to get decent track day shots! The ones I like best are of M3RSR, J964CUP, M99CUP, J500RSL, RS07LEO, WU10YCX & PR06LAM. Right now I haven't got the time to put everything up for (poor quality) download but if any owners would like the 5-6MB originals of the above, just drop me an email and I'll email you back the decent one(s) of your cars. I'll also ask Stephen Mummery if he is interested in these and who knows something might end up in PP. I have shots of many but not all of the other Porsches there yesterday (including the photogenic Mel) so if you aren't in the list above and are interested, just email me your reg and I'll dig out one or two representative examples for you. Might take me a week or two, but you are welcome to use them as you wish.

Sorry Dan, was confused - thought Vic was talking about a 964RS ! Anyway, hope there's a simple solution to the problem, whatever it may be ....... Jamie

Update on my photos - I have M3RSR, J964CUP, M99CUP, J500RSL, RS07LEO, WU10YCX, PR06LAM, M715OKM. I'll also ask Stephen Mummery if he is interested in these and who knows something might end up in PP. I have reasonable sole shots of many but not all of the other Porsches there yesterday (including the photogenic Mel, D8CUP, NXI20, B6CPV, GL11ZGA, 4JWC, S166APF) so if you are interested, just email me your reg and I'll dig out one or two representative examples for you. Really enjoyed Snetterton. The 300 really is a great track, my second favourite behind Donington. The Carrera GT was hugely impressive. The highlight of the day for me and very ably driven too!! Damen
