So who is up for Rutland this year?!

I wont make this I'm afraid for several reasons but the main one being I don't want to take the car out with its dodgy paint, turns out the bodyshop did a crap job and its all blistering. its not being repainted until the middle of May [:(]

How late will be people be staying til on Sunday ?

I'll be a late arrival due to a rugby tournament

I'll be going just as you arrive :)

What time will you get there Chris? I'm in no hurry to shoot off, I might even give you your ABS ECU back...

Looking forward to the meet which will be a first time for me, so with a bit of luck is a problem free drive too, 944 I'm beginning to appreciate 9 hours of driving for 44 hours work [8|]

Don't laugh,,, for us newbies what's the history behind the meet at Rutland its not obvious from reading this thread ?

It's just a great get together for us likeminded and afflicted people. No showboating or strings attached. Just a great opportunity for us all to admire each others cars in a great setting. Doesn't matter what state your car is in as long as it is there. The best Porsche in the world is always your Porsche.

Aha,,, its good to know about such things.

Hopefully for me the old girl get me there and back problem free travelling from High Wycombe via Sth Mimms meet up. Like many of us doing that long wish list of things. I'm the guy thats had a journey with doing the oil cooler leak and mega oil pressure caused by a wrongly fitted OPRV, plus she had a good selection of hoses, new rad too oh yes plus partly rewired DME to ECU loom too !

The car and I have had seven years together now and not a day goes by without thinking of things that she needs. It will always be an on going thing for me but it has to be. How else do you keep a 28 year old car (or any car) on the road? She still more than holds her own with modern cars and can take most of them to the cleaners. If I had to really make a choice between her and the A5 the Audi old lose every time.

My lower arches are starting to go and a piece has flaked off to reveal a nice square of rust. It's not going to stop me going though. Rain might. lol. Nobody will be judging I'm sure, all our cars are a work in progress.

I'm of the same mind.......was hoping to get my front wing and a few other small items sorted before taking her back out into the Porsche world, it's been a while and she was always on top form before.....however the wing will have to wait and unless something fails between now and 24th I'll be there....hopefully see you guys at South Mimms

This will be my sixth or seventh Rutland and it is probably my favourite car meet of the year, its always a friendly environment and an excellent non judgemental view of other's cars and experiences. You will see a few in perfect condition that work as an inspiration/motivation to keep going but most cars are just good honest drivers and there are always lots of tips to fix this or that but in an easier, quicker or cheaper way.

I would honestly say that if you are worried that your car doesn't come up to the mark then you can put those thoughts out of your head and just come along for a chat. The more the merrier! It will also help to swell the numbers yet again, I think that the first time I went there were about 12 of us, its quite striking to see 40 of our old cars in the same car park.

I'm tempted, got clutch hose to replace but may chance it, best get the car washed. I'm coming from south east Kent. Any convo

The "Rutland Gathering” was an excuse to get our 944s out for a bit of exercise over the winter months when other "car club” events had gone into hibernation. It consisted of a bit of tyre kicking at Rutland Water, and then a meal at a local pub. In the past, it has been open to all 944s regardless of club membership (it wasn’t a PCGB organised event) and was advertised on the PCGB 944 Register forum as well as with other Porsche club forums and social media groups.

It was traditionally scheduled for early February and was often postponed until sometime in March due to snow, storms, flooding, plagues of frogs etc. There has always been a sort of bravura lunacy associated with Rutland, with people racing home just ahead of snow storms etc.

Hi Glenn will you be at Rutland? I am hoping to but have had recent starting issues so fingers crossed
!? Might be the snow we had at the weekend [&:]

It depends on car availability, Martin. I have cause to hope that my S2 will be usable but can't be sure . The 2.7 would be an unpleasant option.
