Put me down, car + driver and one for the Ring and one day at Spa.

Any advice on insurance companies that will cover me for both track days? Want to get some quotes asap?

Donald.
Donald,

If your policy expires between now and then you'd be better to try and arrange it with your normal road cover, places like Manning:
http://www.manninguk.com/automotive/porsche-track-day.php

do it, as do Competition Car Insurance..

Good idea, might just look into that as mine is due soon.
Got quotes back for around 200-300 cover at donnington and 250/500 for the ring!!
If I can renew my policy and get track cover built in then brilliant.
Only thing is your no claims bonus would then be jeopardised if something does happen. Thats why i was thinking about keeping separate. But worth a look.

I'll no be setting any lap records at the ring, especially at the start. Probably be within 50%, less thna a hard drive on the road!

I might not be able to go now, potential date clash same weekend.
Will keep you posted.
Can you make a decision ASAP as others have accommodation booked for you.

One more, what is the noise restriction at the ring and do they enforce it?

I was just over the 98db at donny and got flagged for it. Have inserts that reduce attenuate by a db or two, but would rather not use them.

you'll have no problems - ring is something around 120db...spa is 105db but I found they are less strict than UK circuits, only if a car is getting ridiculous will they even blink....

Greig, on our trip in March the boys that took their 964s to the 'ring got pulled over before the barrier and got static noise tested. They were subsequently turned away for being over 100 db. However they had no problems on the other day they spent at Spa. At Spa, the marshalls only bothered testing anything that they thought was overly noisy i.e. full on race cars. The fail limit at Spa I believe was 107 db.

Was that a track day? they have different limits to the public days....

It was a public day at the 'ring and obviously a track day at Spa...sorry for the confusion, I hadn't realized you had managed to get trackdays booked at both places on the same trip.

The Porsche Days at Spa are 110dB at 75% throttle

964 with Cup exhaust is 107dB
